Even if the story went the straight canon route, that's actually an overall good thing in the end :P there were multiple alternate endings and none of them were happy endings for star wars.

Up until Darren said something I hadn't remembered why I recognized the name either. It's a hugely long, extremely complicated, but really good story.

Damn, Trax is showing remarkable restraint in talking to this pilot.  I expected Trax to have a heavy blaster pistol rammed halfway up the guy's left nostril by now.   ;D

I suspect Trax respects someone able to sass when faced with impending violent death. :)

Craig's basically nailed it.  Tormax is being given a lot of leeway because Trax finds him highly amusing.  But Trax also knows he's in a bit of a bind.  Were this trip not urgent, Trax could fly the ship himself, but getting there quickly requires a skilled pilot.  That also factors in to the negotiations.

Having said that, if push really came to shove, Trax would have no problems blasting the kid's kneecap to make his point.  It's one of those little quirks that makes him so lovable. :)

How difficult a roll would it be to jetpack off the ship while Tormax does his flyover?

Very easy.

Landing safely however... :)

Depending on terrain, you're looking at a difficult landing. It depends on speed, terrain and local weather conditions. It could be easier or harder, but you're looking at "Difficult" so 16-20 or so.

Damn, I really need to up my jetpack skill...

With a few cp's, it's an option anyway.
