Visit from the Major
« on: August 09, 2016, 12:42:45 PM »
It is unusually early - not for you - when the door chime sounds. You have been up for a couple of hours, done your morning exercises and already had breakfast and some amazing, golden-yellow tamaryokucha tea that showed up as a surprise. It is very rare, even among your people, and highly prized. Someone has done their homework.

So, you expected the palace to still be asleep when the door chime sounds.

Opening the door, you see Major Antilles standing there in his dress uniform. He gives you a fairly good approximation of a Shinobi bow. In formal tones he says, "Master Nightshade. I am here on behalf of the Queen and the Prince Consort. They owe you a debt of honour for your efforts on their behalf. I am here to learn what boon or gift they might provide you against that debt."

His manner relaxes somewhat, and smiles. "Beyond their debt, they wish to reward you for actions, and have asked me to find out what you might desire that they could provide."

He returns to the formal phrasing. "May I come in?"

Returning the bow, Nightshade indicates that the major is welcome to come in, and takes up a seat on his meditation mat.

Waiting for the major to sit or stand as he wishes, Nightshade speaks, "The tea is boon in and of itself, and not something I would have even dreamed to find this far away from home.  However, if their highnesses would be so good as to replace the equipment that I used, then I would consider the debt settled."

"If it would be possible to arrange transport to the Karvis system for myself, then I would consider that a most generous gift."

Nightshade hands the major a list of the items in question and waits to see if the other man has more to say.

ooc: just would like to bring my equipment back to pre Horuz levels.

The Major nods. "Of course, transport can be provided anywhere in the galaxy you wish to go, and if you can provide me a list, i will see about replacing your equipment. Though we cannot help with weapons, financial compensation would be provided for such items. The Queen and Prince Consort would view this as a bare minimum of acceptable compensation. if that is all you desire of them, then that is fine. But they wish to reward you beyond that, if you will let them. If there is something else they have the power to do or provide, tell me and we will see what we can do."

"I appreciate their generosity and do not mean any slight, but in truth, the thing I need most they are unable to provide.  I must get back to Karvis to even have a hope of attaining it again.  Perhaps I should bank a favor for the future...if Karvis does not turn out well, I may need shelter."

"A writ of hospitality should cover that nicely. It would provide you food and shelter anywhere the Queen and Prince Consort hold sway. Would that meet your needs?"

He smiles, clearly pleased. "A writ of hospitality, and passage to the Karvis III system in the Bruanii sector." The smile fades slightly. "I fear the Queen will be disappointed. Is there anything else her Highness might do for you?"

Looking with some longing at the cup of tea on the table, Nightshade added, "A travel size stash of that tea would be most appreciated."

The Major smiles, and bows. "With stasis chamber to keep it fresh, of course. I think that would please her Majesty very much."

He turns to the door. "I will investigate when we can put you on a ship, and arrange passage through the blockade."
