Maris shakes her head. "Nim, there's plenty more 'worst-case scenarios' I can think of. There's still an Imperial presence on the planet, and you can bet they've been monitoring the situation. What if this is all an Imperial ploy to discredit you, or to get you off planet so they can remove you with a quick fighter strike?
"And let's not forget that if your information is wrong, you're gonna look like an idiot to the people you just convinced to sign up. Sure, they were probably gonna do it anyway, but now they'll resent having been manipulated. And running to Mantooine screaming about how the sky is about to fall may be a little less persuasive than you think. Mantooine is in better shape than Fest, they're a lot more organized and the resistance there is much broader, and they don't have an Imperial bunker in their midst. They're going to be a lot more skeptical about unverified reports. You need something to back up your claims, or they might just think you are full of osik and dig in."
She sighs, and leans against the console as she crosses her arms. "Look, I've been running a long time, Nim. I learned to trust my gut. And right now, my gut is telling me going to Mantooine right now is the wrong move." She shrugs. "But its your show. You saw we move, we move. But you may want more than rumour and innuendo to show the Mantooine rebels."
She pauses, and looks a little less sure of herself.
"Also, to be pragmatic, a fleet showing up here would be a great catalyst to unit the militias on Fest. We'd need someone like you to pull that off, though, and you can't do that from Mantooine. So, where do you think you can do the most good?"
