She was momentarily confused by the informality of the call. Lately Danny had been pretty formal with her, referring to her as "Specialist" and all...

"It's going ok, -- " she broke off, unsure as to whether to address her as "lieutenant" or "Danny" but decided to err on the side of caution "--Lieutenant." She finished. "We've had a couple of setbacks with the equipment. It's been running kinda hard. But we should still be okay - we will be finished by the deadline", she corrected herself.

"You might see Ardross and Tucker at Base within the next few days. The drive back to our base camp is getting to be so long and soon they'll be close enough to Base to make that drive much more sensible."

She was sure that some of her fatigue came across in her voice as much as she tried to hide it. But hopefully her tone also conveyed confidence. They WOULD get this done.

"We don't have any equipment to spare, but I might be able to spring some supplies and another tech if you need it. We're on a time crunch there though, so if you'll be done on time as is, I'd prefer to leave it at that." There is a pause. "Are your people OK? Or should we be swapping in new techs? I know working in the field can be rough."

"I think we are okay. It's pretty rough on them right now having to camp out at the dig site but they know its only for a few more days."

She paused for a minute thinking about it.

"I trust them and they know what they're doing. I feel like if we brought in a new team we'd lose time. But, can I tell them that they can look forward to a bit of a break when we are finished?"

Danny sighs, and you can hear how tired she is. "I'll see what I can do."

Another brief pause. "And how are you doing? We haven't really had a chance to talk since we left to come to Dantooine. Are you doing ok?"

"I"m ok.", she answered, a bit uncomfortable with saying too much over a comm link where she couldn't see Danny's expression. "It's been interesting to say the least."

Again a bit of an awkward pause, not quite sure of this whole friend vs. Officer thing.

"Wouldn't mind getting a cup of kavvy or some thing with you once this is finished. But, I know you're really busy. I'm ok."

She's quiet again for a moment.

"Ok, Keshani. If anything changes with the schedule, or you think you might be done early, let me know immediately. And take care of yourself. We'll see you in a few days."

"Ok," she replied, a bit confused, "Do you *need* us to be finished early?"

She laughs lightly. "Keshani, I have a month's worth of work to get done in a little more than a week. If you can give me back resources early, it'll help me get the impossible done. Don't kill yourself or your techs, but yes - if you can get done early, it would help."

She nodded. If only Holler would let them use the stim packs.....

"We'll do our best. You take care of yourself too."

Waiting to see if Danny had anything else to say, Kesh put the comm link away. She needed to sleep for a few hours but then she would be back at it again. She could work 16 hours in a day; Maybe more if she pushed it...but she didnt want to push herself so hard that she made stupid mistakes. That would at the very least slow them down and the worst destroy the whole setup.

She sighed and headed off to catch a few hours of sleep.

(Actions: sleep minimum necessary and then go work again. If she runs into Holler at all she may think about making a case for more stim things but she isn't going to actively go search him out at this point)

You're all alone in the camp now, and there's a lot fewer soldiers here with you, so things are a lot quieter. You set an alarm for 6 hours, and turn in.

It's sunset by the time you wake up, and the camp is deserted, though you see soldiers on perimeter patrols a couple of hundred yards distant.

Stretching, yawning and scratching, you spend a few moments in the improvised fresher and head to the mess tent. The pot of stew is still there, though it's a lot lower than it was. There's also some fresh buns (how did they make bread?!?!) and what appears to be a fresh pot of kavvy.

You do a quick check-in with your techs. One had the last shift off, so productivity was a little low, but they still did quite well.

[You made another 56 points, giving you a total of 368, and 632 to go.]

Feeling nervous but also proud of the two techs, Kesh headed out to the purifier to do her part....

(She can work 16 hours right? Or that too long without a break?)

You work through the night, and as the sun starts to rise you take a quick break for some food and more kavvy. A new stew is on - you didn't even see who made it - and some sort of local fruit that is quite tasty, if a little tart.

Checking in with the work crew, they had a great shift as well.

[You earned another 63 points, giving you a total of 431, with 569 left to go.]

You're tired, but you could go for another shift.

She decided to stick it out and work one more shift before taking a break. She was kinda on a roll and didn't want to break her stride by stopping now.

It was peaceful, in a way, back working by herself. She felt protected by Holler and his team so she could just lose herself in the work and she felt herself relaxing a bit as she worked, a small smile even appearing on her face.

Yeah, it was rough work and crude conditions, but this, to her, was almost "normal". And not having anyone standing over her threatening her or worse, well, she was in a pretty good mood.

(Actions: keep working for another shift)
