"Ok, so you're safe. Are they still alive? Stable?"

"I...stabilized them for now but they're both hurt pretty bad. Look, are you close enough to get here to help? I...don't know if I can help them both on my own"

"Ok, if they're stable, that's good. You're doing great. I can't get there - I'm 45 minutes away. But that's OK - you're going to call on the comlink and contact the base. You're going to request a medivac for three, and additional security. Explain what happened, they'll get Screamer, Hassle and Peppers medical attention. Ok? You got that?"

She nodded, although no one could see her. "Yeah." She took a slow breath. "Thanks. And....sorry..."

She closed the line and started a new call to base.

A great deal happens in a short amount of time once the call goes through. Medical teams are scrambled, and a pair of evac shuttle are dispatched. In about 15 minutes, the small camp is a lot more crowded. Medtechs check over your patients and whisk them away. You try and stay involved, but the medtechs shoo you away, so you're kind of left worrying without any information. Then, somehow, they're a lot more soldiers around. They must have come in on another shuttle. Through the chaos, you see a young woman in uniform some over to you.

'Specialist Keshani, I'm Lieutenant Vance, Alliance Infantry. I've been assigned to oversee security of this project moving forward."

Kesh looked around in a daze at all the activity. So many questions came to mind, but she didn't see anyone to ask them to. So she just stood, staring.

When the Lt walked up to her she actually jumped slightly, being brought back into her physical body and out of her wandering mind.

"What about Holler?", she couldn't help blurting out before she remembered where she was and who she was talking to

She raises an eyebrow.

"If you are referring to Corporal Halloway, he and his team will be rotated out for R&R. They've sustained significant injuries, and have been working very hard. They need time to recover, and they'll find it at the base."

Her cheeks flaming a bit red she nodded.

She wondered if she would ever see him or his team again. She hoped so. She needed to talk to them. And to Holler. To apologize.....

But this new Lt was standing in front of her and she had to say something.....

"Ok. Were you briefed by....Corporal Halloway.... on the setup here?"

She shakes her head. "Not completely. Cpl Halloway is due to return in a few minutes. I'll get briefed by then. In the meantime, I've been told that this is your project, and I am to follow your direction, except where the safety of you or the project is concerned. Is there anything I need to know before Corporal Halloway returns?"

She thought for a minute and shook her head.

"I don't think so....except..I don't know how common the Graul are to this area? Maybe there should be spotters sent out or something in case more are around? This one sure did a lot of damage...."

Her voice trailed off as she thought about the 3 injured specs. She was still almost afraid to see Holler. She was afraid of what he might say; of what she might say....But at the same time she really needed to see him. To tell him she was sorry...

"I really should check in with the other camp, I guess. I haven't gotten to check in with them in a while. And then I guess I need to get started working back on the setup up here...."

The teenage techie fought off the feeling of extreme overwhelmingness that was threatening to wash over her.

So much had happened in such a short amount of time.....where did she even begin?

She nods. "Don't worry about that, Specialist. We'll have you covered. Once I debrief Corporal Halloway, I'll be taking a team over to the other site to cover them as well. You're welcome to hitch a ride with me there and back."

She heads off towards a knot of activity - soldiers and medics, by the look of them, and you are left to your own devices for a while.

[Anything you want to do? We can skip to Holler's arrival if you want.]

Watching the Lt go, Kesh shook her head a bit as if to try to clear it. A LOT had happened in just a short time and she felt like her head was spinning.

But she forced herself to focus at least a little. She should check in with the other techs.....

Pulling out her commlink/moving over to the comm unit (OOC: I forget which one I need to use...) she called up the other team.

[OOC: The main com unit generally, but your comlink can be patched in through the main unit to reach them.]

"Tucker here, Specialist. We heard you had a rough shift. You ok? Do you need one of us to head there and help out?"

"Hi." She took a slow breath. It was nice to hear a familiar voice, even if she hadn't known the other techs for that long.

"I should be okay up here I think." (In her head she swore that she WOULD be okay. No matter what. She would make it work.)

"How are you doing down there?"

"We're good. Been having a good shift with good progress. The troopers are a little uneasy - we heard there were some casualties."

He pauses. "Specialist, we've been making good progress. If you need one of us to spell you off, we have some slack still in the schedule, and Mena and I can pull extra hours to make it up. It sounds like it got rough."
