Title: Nim: Prison Break: Alpha Containment
Post by: GM Craig on March 07, 2016, 08:04:30 AM
Through the link to Buzz, you watch as one guard suddenly spasms and collapses on the deck. Immediately, the other goes into a roll doge, coming up with his weapon ready. Before he can even raise it to aim, he spasms as well, and collapses to the deck.

The door is now unguarded. Buzz reports some life signs beyond the door - about a dozen in various locations, and no nearby patrols. So far so good.

Beside you, watching the display, Danny says, "Your friend is good."

You hear Nightshade's voice on the comlink.

"Can the droid scan of lifeforms on the other side of the door to Alpha, before I open it?"

"I don't have a good read on the lifesigns. It appears to be a dozen in various places but nothing by the door, but this could be inaccurate. I can slice the door so you can prep."

"Understood.  Slice when ready."

Nim looks around one last time, steers Buzz to the panel and gets right to work without missing a beat.

The panel was an easy slice - meant to keep people in, not out. In a few seconds, the door slides open.

Nim waits for further instructions, floating buzz to a lookout post.

She turns to Danny for a second. "Do you think you might know any of the prisoners in our cell block? I have a list if a dozen that we didn't spring. I don't really have time to figure out who would help and who would try to kill us."

A minute has passed, and Buzz suddenly picks up half a dozen life signs, moving quickly towards Alpha Containment. They are a few rounds away.

She turns to Danny for a second. "Do you think you might know any of the prisoners in our cell block? I have a list if a dozen that we didn't spring. I don't really have time to figure out who would help and who would try to kill us."

She shakes her head. "Two days ago I was a technical services officer. I do not know who is in the cells, and I haven't been in this area since the construction was completed."

Nim doesn't respond to Danny but immediately opens the comm to Nightshade. "Six incoming. 10-15 seconds. I'll try and buy you some time."

She turns back to the panel and tries to lock the security door. If he could get their friends out then they all could deal with whoever was rushing this way. She did feel a bit annoyed that the entire station was at her fingertips and all she could really do was try and lock a door...

Buzz moves to the door panel, and in a few moments you have the access code scrambled.

Meanwhile, beyond the door, Buzz detects two lifesigns fade.

The six contacts are closing, and Buzz is picking them up on motion sensors now. You can see a squad of five royal guards, and a black-armoured guard running towards the cells.

Her heart skipped a beat as her brain fired off a split second thought that one of the faded lifesigns could be Nightshade's. What the kark could she do then? He had to be alive, he had to make it. Her brows furrowed in worry as she maneuvered Buzz up and out of the way of the impending guards to maintain his cover.

He's not said anything in a while.. I have to assume he's still there...

"Five red guards and their boss. I scrambled the door access but hurry."

[OOC: As she was slicing the door panel, she detected that two lifesigns had faded in the space beyond the door.]

Nightshade is on the comlink. "I found Niil.  Any ideas on where to look for the others?"

"Ah, I still see ten in there... Ch'lana shoukd be there somewhere. Maybe the Jedi that was with the senators, if he survived. What do you see?"

Her eyes didn't move from the view but she asked Danny, "Any ideas?"

Danny says, "I know there was at least one prisoner there before you lot arrived."

She fingers the display, sending ripples through the holo. "There. Second cell on the north wall. The others are too close to get clear positions."

"Don't see anything right now. Guess we will start popping doors and see who is behind them."

With sudden rapidity, six life signs just winked out of existence, almost at the same moment. There are not only 5 life signs left in that section - four in the larger chamber at the end, and one in the second cell by the door. There is still silence on the comlink.

The guards have reached the door to the containment bay, and are working at getting through the door. For now your lockout appears to be holding them, and buzz remains hidden, floating above them. The lockout should hold them for a while, but you cannot stop them from cutting through the door should they decide to.

Danny says, "That's either good, or really bad. But, presuming it is good, how are they going to get past that squad of guards?"

Risking a conversation over the air, Nightshade saidd, "Nim, I have found three of our party, what is your status?  Any ideas on a rendezvous?"

"Three? Mmm kay.. Sensor shows four in the large chamber at the end and one in the second cell by the door. The 6 Reds are knockin' at your door now. My lockout might hold them a bit but they might just cut through it. Sounds like that's going to be a tough fight and Buzz can't really help."

"Danny and I are still in her cell. Once you somehow get through the door I guess we would meet up at 'Max?"

Danny says, "That's either good, or really bad. But, presuming it is good, how are they going to get past that squad of guards?"

"I have no idea. But as you saw, they somehow just dispatched 6 people at once. Hopefully they have more of that." Nim pondered for a moment. "Think we could get there quick enough to help?"

Was this one and my reply supposed to be on my and NSs board?

"I have no idea. But as you saw, they somehow just dispatched 6 people at once. Hopefully they have more of that." Nim pondered for a moment. "Think we could get there quick enough to help?"

She shakes her head. "There will be patrols. And unless you are very, very good with those pistols, they'll quickly overpower us."

"No, unfortunately. Too goram rusty. But I mean, we'll have to meet at alpha or max, choose your poison."

"That's a dross choice, but if I have to I pick Max."

Then there is an alert from buzz. He is picking up a huge energy surge at Alpha containment. You glance at the video, and it looks like some sort of energy conduit ruptured. all the guards are twitching as lightning dances all over them. Then it stops, and you see a blurry flash of movement that is hard to define given the limitation of Buzz's resolution while under stealth.

"The kark was that?!" she sort of asked Danny before scrambling for the comm.

"'Shade? Everything alright in there? What's going on?"

Danny shakes her head, as confused as you. "There's no big conduits there. And what was that motion? Looked like someone running, but I couldn't tell from the flashes. Can you reply the feed slower?"

"Should be able to. I mean, great that the guards are down, but.."

She typed in a few commands and studied the holo, looking for the figure in particular with a rewind and enhance.

When you play it back frame by frame, you see things a little clearer. The lightning burst forth from outside buzz's field of view. But then, as the guards were still in spasms from it, you see a figure with a lightsabre run through the crowd, swinging too quickly for Buzz's optics to follow. The images are grainy, but at one point you see a face. It is hard to make out with the lightsabre in front of it, but you think it might look like Galen.

By this point, only the black-clad guard is still standing. The figure with the lightsabre extends a hand, and the black-clad guard is suddenly yanks out of Buzz's field of view. The sabre-swinger moves after him faster than any human should be able to move.

Beside you Danny whispers, "Wow."

Nim echoed the sentiment exactly with a "whoa."

"Um, I can't tell for sure, but that might be one of ours. The one causing havoc to divert forces from us. Hopefully they reply soon..."

In a moment of panic she checked the sensors to see if the numbers of lifesigns were still correct and then went back to the live feed.

"Mate, still there?"

One life sign winked out, but the others are still there. You have 4 contacts.

The one by the door is gone now.

You hear Niil's voice on the comlink.

"Nim, Nightshade, we're moving out.  What's the status on our hostiles?"
Title: Re: Prison Break: Alpha Containment

Nightshade comes on the comlink.

"Nim, we are still here...looks like something happened to our door breaching party and they are out of commission.  Also if you see a female Zabrak running around, don't shoot her."

[taking some liberties.]

You watch the life signs move to the door, so you start unlocking it. A moment later, they move out, and you send Buzz to lead them down a corridor towards the Max area.

"Yeah.. it was the strangest thing. I replayed the vid and it looked like tall, dark, and spooky suddenly showed up out of nowhere and fried them all. I can't confirm it was him though. It was over in a flash and they disappeared. And.. okay, no shooting female zabraks. Got it. I'll have Buzz scout the way to Max for you."

Ooc: shoukd we make a new thread or BB for whoever has a comm now?

Comlink (Niil): "Thanks, Nim.  Stay frosty; we'll be there as quick as we can. Niil out."

Danny gives you a nod, then hesitates. "Look, I need to level with you. I'm in pretty rough shape. I'll try to keep up, but the last few days have been... pretty rough."
