Saying Goodbye (Collan and Niil)
« on: May 08, 2016, 04:31:52 PM »
The teenage girl came running up to Collan and Niil as they were heading off to board the Rogue Shadow.

"Hey! Wait!", she called out.

When they had stopped she took a few seconds to catch her breath.

"I um, just wanted to apologize about before."

Her cheeks flushed a bit pinkish in embarrassment and she looked away for a minute.

"I, uh, am gonna head to Alderaan for right now. Get things sorted out a bit more. But I just wanted to say that doesn't mean...."

She shrugged.

"I still want to help you guys and the Rebellion. And I want to help Trax, too. I just don't think I'm ready right now to commit to anything specific..."

"I...hope we can still stay in contact?"

It was a lot for her to say. But her talk with Maris and then with Danny had helped her to feel like she needed to start talking - to start using her words instead of just getting frustrated.

If she wanted others to treat her like an adult then she needed to start acting like one....

Nill seemed surprised, but grinned and shook his head.  "Apologize?  Pfft.  You've got nothing to apologize for, Keshani.  The reason we got you out of that hell-hole was so that you'd be free to do whatever you wanted.  Take however long you need to get on your feet; you've earned that even if you didn't save our butts back on that metal rocl.  And yeah, you bet that we'll definitely contact you when we can."

A small smile appeared on her face but the relief in that smile was apparent.

"Do you think I can still help you guys virtually? "

Collan considered that.

"Yeah...if we can communicate. Special ops doesn't usually communicate outside the unit unless we're returning from mission or coordinating as part of a mission. It's just too risky."

Collan came over and almost placed his hands on her shoulders but held back.

"We get you need space and that you need to figure things out. It's a big wide galaxy out there and suddenly it's a corusca gem at your feet? What do you do with something so precious? "

Collan then gave her a smile, "And I think that maybe our destinies are intertwined. The Force brought us to you. Something is happening and things are now moving. I think we're going to see each other again. I just don't know when yet."

"Well, I hope the next time is under less...exciting...circumstances. A girl can only take so much excitement...Maris kinda pointed out that I don't need to stay in one place so maybe you'll see me soon. I dunno.."

She looked down at the ground for a few seconds as if steeling her nerves.

"I, um, wanted to say thank you,  too. For trying to help me."

"You'e welcome," Collan said, "I hope we helped at least a little bit."

Collan was unsure of what to do next.

"I'm sure it won't be long before we meet again either. You take care."

He gave the girl a smile.

"You too."

Feeling a bit awkward she turned to head back to the other ship.
