How often could one last before needing their next fix?  I noticed you've got a price on Glitterstim at 6000-10000 a hit, I would guess that most people could only afford it a few times a year at that rate.

And for breaking the addiction, the addict essentially has a -5 penalty for 4 weeks while they work to break the addiction?

Keep in mind there rules are just a draft. They're a hodgepodge of D20 and D6 rules cobbled together, so there's a lot of cleanup to do.

Having said that...

If addicted, the penalty applies the moment the spice wears off.

Glitterstim is very expensive. It is not a street drug, and you can't go to a typical supplier to get it. Addiction to Glitterstim can be ruinous in many ways.

And for breaking the addiction, the addict essentially has a -5 penalty for 4 weeks while they work to break the addiction?

No. It's -2 for two weeks, then -5 for two weeks. Then you're cured.

I can see Glitterstim to be really useful in something like corporate espionage . . .

That is a frequent use. It would be very helpful for espionage, negotiations, and that sort of thing. Unscrupulous corporate types would do that, and big corps could easily afford it.

Okay, so that would explain the 1d4, 1d8's etc for how long it takes to kick in.  Don't need to ask that question now. :)

How big a penalty is -5 in the d20 world?  Just trying to figure out how it would translate into d6, which would essentially be a 1D penalty.  Or at a least 66% of 1D penalty...

I've hacked together a 5 as a 1D, and a 10 as 2D, but that's not final.

Regarding any of these drug withdrawals . . . would the Detoxify Force power work at all to lessen the effects?

Detoxify would remove the effects of the drug (cleanse it from your system), but the damage it might cause, nor the dependency.

-5, -10 seems a little harsh as a stepped series. A 10 is on the lower end of probability for rolling 2D. As a reference, 8 is the median score on an idealized 2D6 curve.
