The main structure is topped with a dome that contains the tracking and activation controls for the cannon, and that dome is pierced in several locations.

Can the dome (especially the piercings) be easily reached from the outside?  And are those piercings big enough for either Niil or Collan to slip through?

Regarding a gun platform's shields . . . judging by what we can see from the tech readout, how difficult would it be to drop a platform's shields via internal sabotage?

Simple enough if you can get into the guts of the place. You'll draw attention. There may be some techs down there, but they're not much of a threat.

You don't have any weapons to attack the platforms once the shields are down, though.
