It's a whole mountain. If I was the architect in charge, I'd have anticipated orbital bombardment and made sure that it would collapse to a certain point and then act as a big stone shield. The Empire would need to literally melt the mountain.

But before it got ba inside, I'd have High Command who live and work at the core out the boltholes I made in just such an emergency.

Demaia sacrificed everyone in the rebel base to cover Ch'lana's escape???

Between the KDF personnel themselves, the Kothe and the prisoners we just freed, that's got to be a few thousand people.

She doesn't seem the type to be so brutally callous about it, so it had to be something she'd foreseen regarding the lot of us getting off-planet outweighing even the loss of all those people.  Of course, none of us except for maybe Ch'lana would know that, and maybe not even him.  Demaia was a seer, but I don't think Ch'lana was.

You are correct, Ch'lana was a knight so his skills are around survival and combat.

Demaia was a sage and and a seer, and much less combat oriented in favour of force powers.

OOC:  Unless there were others that I'd forgotten about . . .  :P

As far as you know, there are no others. You rescued them and a group of royal rangers from where the Empire was hunting them, southwest of the Bladesea near Megyek Ebol.

Craig, based on what we know of the base, is there any chance of anyone surviving an orbital bombardment the likes of what Niil, Collan and Nightshade witnessed?

Also a heads up, when Trax returns and finds out what happened, he's going to want to try to connect with safe houses/any other bases that were set up.

It's possible. The cave complex was a warren, so some areas of the complex might have had sufficient structural integrity to survive the bombardment. it was not built to resist this sort of thing though, so any such pockets would be by happenstance rather than intention.

The bombardment would take out the bulk of the rebel forces, and the command structure. but there were a dozen cells on the planet. Also Senator Pasteur's group in the south would have been untouched by the bombardment, so there is still some core leadership around which the rebellion on Karvis could be rebuilt.

Might be worth asking if fighting the empire is so hopeless why was he on the corvette and why did he fight the dark jedi.

Heh . . . I was thinking of that, and then I remembered what he did to Collan.  I think that dark Jedi was instrumental (or at least directly responsible) for the real bad thing that happened to Ch'lana.  And . . . Ch'lana expected (maybe even wanted) to die on that mission.  Remember the thermal detonator?

Still . . . he did come out of hiding for that . . .

I'd call BS on the wanting to die.  If he wanted to die, then he could have either let the dark jedi kill him, or step off the platform after killing the dark jedi and fall to his death.  Or, he could have waited in his hidey hole you found him in for the dark jedi woman to find him after shoving you guys into the tunnel.

He doesn't want to die, he's lost his reason (and purpose) to really live.

Nightshade trained to use the Force.  Now that would be . . . frightening.
