Nim and Trax: Drinks with Doha

[Nim Naja]

Nim nodded. Although disappointed, it was probably better that he not speak of details. "I am technically aboard to help Trax with some ah, personal issues he needs to take care of. But obviously I have great interest in using my skills for other endeavors. I've been doing so on my own for quite a while but it would be good to have a secure line to those that could actually make use of what comes of it."


She decided not to speak of it any further; afterall, Doha didn't really know her. She'd leave it up to him to discuss.

[GM Craig]

Wyrren Doha looks Nim over for a moment with an intense stare.

"Miss Naja, it sounds like you're looking for a cause to join. Tired of working for the highest bidder?"

There is no mockery in his voice on manner.

[Nim Naja]

"I think that oversimplifies it some, but yeah, something like that."

[GM Craig]

Wyrren smiles and sips his drink. "I probably shouldn't, but I find myself trusting you. Tell you what - if this meeting goes well, I'll introduce you to some people that might be able to give you a greater purpose for those skills of yours."

He glances to the side, and you see Trax walking up to you. He doesn't look happy, though it's not directed at anything immediate.

[Trax]

Trax could be heard mumbling, or more accurately, grumbling as he approached the table.  The man pulled out a chair with his foot and promptly sat down.  He eyed Doha for a moment, looking like he was going to say something when he looked down at the glasses on the table.

His face softened as he waved over to the server and pointed to the glasses, ordering himself a drink, and refills for the other two.

"So," he began looking first to Nim and then to Doha.  "My 500 creds get you anything interesting?"

[Nim Naja]

"Sure," She replied to doha and looked up.

Nim at first wondered what had Trax in such a mood but wonder turned to amusement quite quickly. She remained quite content to be quiet, watching him with an amused smile.

[GM Craig]

Doah raises an eyebrow, apparently a little confused. "Mostly stuff I knew already. Some things might be very important. We'll see how the meeting goes, but if she's right then we need to move quickly."

[Trax]

"Do we need to try and push it up?" Trax asked, the fingers of his left hand tapping on the table while he waited impatiently for his drink.

[GM Craig]

He looks at Nim. "You know, yeah. If what she says is true, the sooner the better."

[Trax]

"Then I'm going to need 3 things.  First, I'll need a name I can use to refer to you that the contact will recognize when I call, second, what Nim said that's sparked the urgency, and third," Trax glanced around for the server, despite knowing it'd scarcely been 30 seconds since he sat down, "my damned drink."

[Nim Naja]

"The data on your boss didn't come from his creds, so he isn't aware. Call it a donation from a concerned party." She winked at Wyrren and turned back to Trax.

" You and I need to have some words about that stunt upstairs. Mainly about your 'honey.'"

[Trax]

Trax's head turned back to the table, glancing between Doha and Nim a few times before his eyes settled on the woman.

"A donation?  Well you two have definitely seem to become cozy haven't you." he said, a wry smile almost crossed his face, but was stifled by his current mood.

"Do I get a share of the generosity?" he asked as he turned to Doha.

[Nim Naja]

"Oh we can scrap right here, hell, we can scrap in front of her for all I care. But you're not getting to ignore it."


Nim leaned towards Trax and put her chin on her hand propped by her elbow, giving him an intense stare.

[Trax]

When the former hunter turned back to Nim the look on his face made it seem like there was about to be a 'scrap' all right, but the look quickly faded into one of tired resignation.  It would have been obvious to her she'd hit the source of his current mood.

"There was no stunt, on my part anyway.

I was aware that I've earned something of a reputation back hom..." Trax caught himself.  Had he really almost said home?

"Anyway, I guess I didn't take that rep serious enough, and some people seem to have developed an...uh I don't know..." the man rubbed his forehead.

"'Honey' was just being extra cautious.  She seems to think it's important I make it back."

[Nim Naja]

Nim flippantly waved a hand. "Oh I'm not talking about that. I mean you putting me in a room full of strangers without so much as warning me. Really, what was the purpose of that? Who the kark is the woman?"
