"One sec." Trax said, slipping the comm of his ear and offering it to Keshani.

"Let Niil or Nim know when you're in position.  And be careful."

Keshani took the comm from him and settled it into position.

His comment caused her to pause again, though.

Be careful...

Again, this display of what seemed like actual concern for her well being. It was....strange.

She studied him for a minute, as if trying to decide if his concern was genuine. He MIGHT just mean be careful she didn't throw the grenades at them...

After a few seconds she nodded. "Let's go."

Keshani disappears into the air duct, and the rest of you make ready to drop the hammer on the troopers. Nightshade vanishes, and moves off ahead to get into position, and Ch'lana gathers himself for a leap while you all wait for Keshani's com signal.

[pausing here.]

On the comlink, you all hear Keshani's nervous voice. It is early - she was supposed to be a couple more minutes yet.

She is speaking in a whisper, and it is difficult to hear, but you manage to make, "Uh, guys? I need you to make some noise. Like, uh, now."

With the grenades in a small satchel, Keshani starts crawling down the duct. A minute or so later, she reaches the corner. She needs to be quiet here, or risk alerting the troopers, so she takes it easy. But then she hears something. Looking up, she sees a small service droid emerge from a side duct. The service droids are built for maintenance and observation, but they do come equipped with some weapons, and are programed to help keep slaves in line.

The service droid is a small box, about half a meter on a side, with numerous manipulators and tools attached. A central stalk holds the optics.

The droid sees her almost immediately, and and two long arms extend with electro-probes on them. The droid makes a threatening noise and rushes forward.

[Actions?]

*************************************

Crawling hurt her knees. But she kept her focus on the fact that once at the other end she would get to drop some stun grenades on the stormtroopers who were standing there. That kept her going. It even made a small (very small) smile tug at the corner of her lips.

She had crawling for what felt like forever when suddenly she heard a noise ahead in the duct.

"Frell", she whispered to herself and looked in the direction of the noise.

A droid.

Not only a droid, but one that looked like it could seriously hurt her if given the chance. As it extended its two long arms in her direction she could see what looked like some sort of thing that sure looked like it would generate electricity on the ends of each arm.

She hated droids.

She hated being electrocuted even more.

"Frell". she whispered again to herself.

"Be careful".....

She groaned inwardly. They were never going to let her go off to do something on her own again...not after she screwed this up....

She didn't really have very many options. The only things she had with her were the stun grenades, the blaster she had taken from the Overseer and the comlink.

She pulled out the blaster and aimed it at the droid. If this went wrong she would end up with the shot ricocheting back to her. But if she didn't do anything she didn't like the look of what would happen to her either...

She thought about the commlink now nestled behind her ear.

Should she call for help?

"Be Careful..."

She let out a breath and cued her commlink.

"Uh, guys," she whispered, her eyes totally on the droid and her blaster aimed in front of her,

"I need you to make some noice. Like uh Now."

Action: set blaster to stun and aim at droid

************************************

You clearly hear what sounds like a war zone echoing from the area below you. Whatever they did, it's making a hell of a racket.

[Actions?]

I presume you're going to shoot?

*************************************

yup

*************************************

The droid approaches rapidly, the "tick tick tick" of the spidery legs echoing through the duct. Beneath you, it suddenly sounds like a war erupted, and the boom, ping and zing of blaster fire fills the ducts. You take a breath and squeeze off a shot.

The bolt strikes the droid a little high and too the left. It collapses, legs ticking wildly. Then there is a small secondary explosion and the legs stop moving. A moment later, the optics go dark.

[Actions?]

*************************************

Her eyes narrow at the droid as it approaches, its legs ticking away against the sides of the duct superimposed over the sounds of blaster fire below.

When you ask for noise they sure go all out..., she thought to herself.

Finally the droid was close enough and she fired, praying to whatever powers there be that the shot didn't ricochet back to hit her.

She watched as the thing started twitching and then stopped moving as a small explosion took place. A moment later the optics went dark.

Her eyes narrowed even more. Was it just faking it? Or was it really dead?

She scooted forward and poked the thing with the muzzle of the blaster, ready to trigger another shot if it moved.

If it didn't she would crawl over it if she could to continue to move through the ductwork.

*************************************

You are just done scrambling over the droid and are moving as quickly as possible away from it when the droid detonates.

The blast is not large, but this is a confined space. Shrapnel rips through the ducting, and you feel the bottom give way behind you. The blast throws you forward a few meters, and you are dazed from the pain and your ears are ringing, but you seem to be intact. Your legs look pretty shredded, but they still work. [Wounded twice.]

You are 10 meters away from the diffuser above the troopers.

*************************************

"Frell!!", she whispered one more time under her breath as she shook her head trying to clear away the spots behind her eyes and the ringing in her ears.

She didn't want to look at her legs. She had felt the shrapnel hit. She didn't want to know what they looked like. They worked. That's all she cared about right now.

"Fraking Gods with your cursed sense of humor!"

She groaned and did her best to continue to crawl forward to the other end of the duct so that she could get out of this cursed thing and hopefully still drop some grenades on the stormies heads.

Niil's eyebrows rose at Keshani's transmission, but he didn't hesitate long.  "First group, go!  Remember, Nightshade is on the left side!"

Trax waited a moment before charging down the corridor.  Let the jedi go first, was his thought.  If he drew all the fire from the troopers, he could make it farther down and be in a better position to fire when Keshani started dropper grenades.

[OOC: So yeah, if Ch'lana draws all the fire, or even makes it further down the corridor than Trax would using an all out run, then I'll do an all out run.  Otherwise, a double move so he can dodge.]

Collan slung the rifle over his should and pulled out his blaster...he needed all his skill for this.

[SOrry...really busy with work...turn corner...fire shot at stormies. dodge as needed.]

Nightshade heard Keshani call for a distraction, but decided that the rest of the group would be able to provide that, so he stayed hidden, looking to move as quickly as possible to get within melee range without being spotted.

Actions: sneak, reac dodge

About this time, Nim makes it to a wall panel, and goes to work. She's got an idea about blast doors. It might not help the immediate situation, but it could stop reinforcements. And there is always the fire suppression system...

With Keshani's call, Ch'lana runs out from cover and into the middle of the corridor. He stands there for a moment, to make sure the troopers are watching him, then ignites his sabre. At that moment, a wave of firepower erupts downrange.

Ch'lana starts out in defensive form this time, and starts to slowly walk down the corridor.

A moment behind him, Trax leaps out. The troopers are beyond the range of his pistols, but it's almost unimportant. Ch'lana has their attention fully rooted on him.

[Actions?]

Nim has two options, and she can do both but one at a time. One is to activate the fire suppression system, which would fill the corridor with a gaseous fire retardant. It would provide decent cover. DC for that is ~20. The other option is to close the other blast doors. That's tougher - DC 30. There's no direct link from the panel she's accessing,s o she's trying to leap-frog through the door monitoring system into other control systems.

Niil winced as he watched the hail of blaster bolts smack into the wall at the far end of the corridor, and gave himself a silent five count.  Then, nodding to Collan, he rounded the corner and opened fire with his blaster rifle.

OOC:  One shot, and closing by leap-frogging forward from stanchion to stanchion.  Once I'm in heavy blaster pistol range, I'll use those instead.

Trax took advantage of the troopers focusing on Ch'lana and moved quickly down the corridor.

[OOC: Same plan, if all the troopers continue to fire on Ch'lana, then all out run down the corridor.  Otherwise, double move so I can dodge if necessary.  Let me know when I'm in medium range for pistols please.]

A wall of blaster fire pours down the corridor, all of it aimed at Ch'lana. It is withering fire, but the Jedi moves his sabre faster that the eye can follow, combining that with dodges and twists. It is as if he knows where each blaster bolt will be before it arrives. He makes slow but steady progress down the corridor.

Trax easily outdistances him, and his swift approach is drawing some attention, but he draws no shots yet.

Towards the rear, Niil begins leap-frogging up the passage. Niil squeezes off a shot, but it hits a barricade.

Colan pops around the corner and takes a shot, but it impacts on a barricade.

Unseen, Nightshade moves quickly up the left side. He'll soon be in sword range.

[Actions?]

Ch'lana appears to be taking care that blaster shots are deflected in safe directions, which seems to take a little more concentration that simply blocking.

Nim wishes she could high five buzz but gets on the comm instead. "This is a test of the emergency fire suppression system. This is only a test. Beeeep."

She started punching into the system to drop the osik on everyone.

[Over the comlink with Keshani, you can hear the sound of a blaster shot. A few moments later, you hear Kehsnai's voice.]

"Holy  hell!" silence a moment. "frak... frak... frak FRAKING FRAK!" The words are cut off by the sound of an explosion. The ceiling near the troopers ruptures. A moment later, alarm klaxons sound, and the entire corridor fills with fire suppressing fog.

No one has any targets, but the troopers keep firing regardless.

[OOC: The fog is mildly toxic. Those of you with breath masks or rebreathers will need to put them on.]
