Collan, Nightshade, Nill, Nim, Trax: Raid on Horuz

[Trax]

The rebel was a little surprised that Nightshade's blades had difficulty penetrating the troopers armor.  That wasn't usually a problem when he'd seen vibroblades in action.  Trax watched events unfold on Nim's holo projector while he kept his left blaster readied and fought to keep himself from pacing.  He'd always been one of those that was front and center in combat situations but all the others that had at least some combat experience had left, if he left as well it would leave Nim and Keshani unprotected.

[OOC: Keeping an eye on the tunnel we came through, as well as the other corridor in case reinforcements show up.]

[Nim Naja]

Noting Trax's clear refusal to leave the girls even in their hideyhole, Nim gave Trax a look - and truly, only a true blood Lorrdian would get it - that read: "I was SpecOps, not a window licker."

But it was for the briefest of seconds; her fingers were already flying across the projected keyboard as if they had a mind of their own.

Ooc: If Buzz doesn't have his shield up, make sure it is and slice away.

[Keshani]

Kesh was only half watching the holo vid display as she worked to rig the droid cores to be explosives.

But her attention was caught as Nightshade reached the troopers and the events unfolded. Nightshade looked like he was in trouble.

She glanced up at Trax, waiting for him to run to the other's aid. But he didn't.

She remembered how much he seemed to care about Nim. And this whole thing about her reminding him of someone important.

"Uh. Don't you think you're needed down there?" she asked, gesturing with her head (her hands were otherwise occupied) toward the troopers.

Actions: continue to work on explosive thing

[Trax]

"By the time I get there it'd be too late for me to help them." Trax replied, his answer being truthful but only part of the reason he was staying put.

[Keshani]

Keshani just threw him a look like she didn't quite believe that but continued working.

[GM Craig]

The display of the barricade vanishes in a burst of digital artifacts and focuses on the computer panel. Nim's fingers fly over the holographic controls as beads of sweat stand out on her forehead.

Outside, Nigthshade leaps into a backflip as the troopers start firing. The Shinobi drops to a crouch, and leaps a couple of meters to the side as four blaster bolts try to track him through space. They come close, but none hit him.

A moment later Nim says, "I'm in!"

Blaring alarm klaxons sound and you all hear the loud hiss of the fire suppression system engaging.

Ch'lana rolls out of the hatch into the corridor just in time to see the far end filling with white fog. Collan and Niil are right behind him. In unison, Ch'lana and Collan raise their hands and close their eyes as Niil raises his rifle. At the end of the corridor on the right, with clouds of fog just starting to obscure him, the trooper on the right slowly lifts into the air. In unison, Ch'alana and Collan close their fists and pull them close to their bodies. The levitating trooper is flung through the air towards them, and hits the deck, skidding several meters. He struggles to get back to his feet when Niil fires. The blaster bolt hits the trooper's helmet slightly high and to the right, and the trooper flops to the deck incapacitated.

A blaster bolt is fired down the corridor, but the trooper can no longer see any targets, and it passes harmlessly between Ch'lana and Collan. Another shot goes down range, but is no where near anyone.

Trax rolls out of the hatch and into the corridor, hand cannons at the ready, but stays near the hatch.

A hail of blaster fire pours down the corridor, but none of it hits anything important. One shot pings off Buzz's shield, but the droid is unhurt. Another narrowly misses Collan, slightly singing his tunic but not causing any real damage.

In the maintenance tunnel, Keshani is whipping up a decent explosive. It will take a few more seconds, but it is almost ready.

[Trax]

"Nicely done." Trax said to Nim.

"Time to move, stay close, stay low and stick to the wall." he said motioning for Nim and Kesh to exit the tunnel.  His tone was clear, this was not up for debate.

[OOC: When Kesh exits Trax will give her his rebreather, and he won't take no for an answer.  He's only got his left pistol ready so he has a free hand for stuff like handing Kesh the rebreather and not incurring unnecessary MAPs.  He'll hold his breath as long as he can and take up position just off the wall so that any blaster bolts that would likely hit Nim or Kesh would hit him instead.  Use CPs to negate damage if necessary.]

[Niil Spaar]

Niil felt a thrill of exultation at Collan, Ch'lana and Nim's success, but managed to tamp it down.  Bolting to his feet, he said, "Let's close the distance before they can clear that fog!  If we can get to that barrier, we might be able to pop some grenades through those firing slits."

OOC:  Agh, simultaneous posts!  Anyway, Niil will head for the checkpoint, but Niil will only take a shot if he has a clear target.  Going for the repeater if possible.

[Collan]

"Keep to the walls. Use your cover," he commed as he made his way across.

[Nightshade]

Nightshade lunged to finish the wounded trooper with a pair of strikes before looking to pin himself next to the barrier, hoping that by staying next to it and away from the rifle apertures he could minimize his target profile from the troopers on the other side.

[Keshani]

Keshani blinked up at Trax as he told them it was time to move.

She looked back down at the droid cores in her hands. She was almost done, but not quite.

She looked back up at Trax and moved to open her mouth and then closed it.

She had a feeling that any answer other than moving toward the hatch would not turn out well....

Carefully she tucked the droid cores back into the bag. She would finish them later....(she hoped).

As she exited the hatch she saw the white fog that must be the fire suppression system. She sniffed cautiously and felt her throat catch.

Just as she was doing this she saw Trax hand her his rebreather.

She looked at him again. Her face began to redden.

"I'm fine.", she answered, ignoring the proffered rebreather and moving to her place along the wall.

[Nim Naja]

As much as she might have otherwise celebrated, Nim knew that slice had been the easy one. She popped in her rebreather and  launched out of the hatch on Trax's command, sticking to the wall.

[Trax]

Trax checked a sigh and simply gave a nod of agreement.  The young girl wouldn't be fine after taking a few breaths of the toxic fumes.  Not that he'd enjoy breathing them in either, and not that he wouldn't feel the effects, but he'd rather deal with that himself.  Still, he wasn't going to force the issue, at least she was willing to start moving.  Maybe she'd be more inclined to take him up on his offer when she was close to passing out from the fumes.

[Nim Naja]

Nim looked at the holo display on her wrist and spoke into the open comm with a calm voice. "One dozen approaching our six. Ten seconds."

Turning to Trax, "Kesh and I could stay in the hatch but you'll need fire support."
