"Nim. Nightshade," Collan said into the com, "We've got company coming. How long before you're ready?"

A dozen more troopers?  Wonderful . . . Moving to get into position, he called out,  "I could use some support fire here."

Ch'lana reaches out a hand, and some of the barricades the Stormtroopers had been using for cover lift into the air and get scattered around the corridor. They will provide decent cover for anyone wishing to shoot from behind them.

Meanwhile, some of the wookies liberate blaster rifles from fallen stormtroopers while others take positions on either side of the door, ready to run out for melee attacks.

[OOC: You have several seconds before the troopers get there, so you can take whatever positions you guys want.]

?Wookiees? Really?" She raised an eyebrow to Trax. "Okay... I've got what we need. Ready??

To Nightshade in com: ?All set. The lift will lead you to the next room, dozen troopers on the way to the right of the lift. Couple of Wookiees are apparently helping us, try not to scare the crap out of them when you come out.?

OOC: On the way in she'll grab a rifle from the nearby body and anything else useful he/she might have on him/her (yeah, I said it!). Assuming trax doesn't suggest differently she'll take a spot behind the new cover.

Trax walked beside Nim as they headed for the adjoining room.

"Look," he said as they walked, "it's not that I don't trust your skills, I knew given the time you could stop the decompression of the bay.  But what if a stray blaster bolt fried the panel, or they decided instead of fighting you to overload and blow the field generator protecting the bay?"

When he noticed Nim's path was taking her towards the cover that had been moved he gently guided her to the far edge of the blast door.

"Then your skills, or my skills, or anyone's skills wouldn't have saved any of us.

That's why I dropped the suit and portable generator at your feet.  If something like that happened, then at least you still had a chance.  You could fire up the generator which would buy you the time to suit up, and then head out and get back to the shuttle."

He unslung his rifle and handed it to her as he stopped her progress at the edge of the blast door.  It was far enough away that she might still be able to provide cover fire and not present herself as a target.

"No closer." he said as he drew his pistols and prepared to move to the door near Ch'lana.

[OOC: Looking to position Nim on the side where your scale is using the edge of the opening as cover for her.]

"Clear, coming down."

Nightshade took a moment to sheathe his blades and make sure his kit was ready for action before taking the lift down.  With a brief nod to Ch'lana he move to take cover at the far left of the corridor, activating his suit once he was in position.

Ooc: moving to top left of map, taking cover and going ghost.

Keshani kept (futiley it seemed) working on the collar, growing more and more frustrated and panicked as she worked. She knew it was a long shot to get it off - it wasn't like she hadn't tried before, but now she NEEDED to get it off. If not SOMEONE would turn on the damn thing again and she would be paralyzed with pain.....

In anger she slammed her fist against the access panel, inadvertently causing it to open enough for her to see the scene unfolding around her.

Suddenly, in front of her (a bit of a distance away, but still THERE) she saw the glow of something that until now she had only heard of in stories.

Scary stories - stories told in the dark meant to freak out younger kids or meant to scare kids into behaving.

Stories told of those beings called...the Jedi.

The Jedi, so the stories went, were once the guardians of the Old Republic - way before she was born. They were said to be all powerful and able to do insane things like make things move without touching them or invade the minds of those around them, convincing them to do things that they wouldn't do otherwise.

They tried to take over the Old Republic and as a result the Empire became what it was today.

Damn Jedi...

She heard the Jedi talking to the Wookies. The Wookie seemed to not view him as a threat.

But then a chill ran through the girl.

She remembered OTHER stories. Stories of how the Jedi were sneaky and could not be trusted.

"You never want to trust a Jedi," she remembered Chen warning one time, when the kids were trying to scare each other with stories, "They will pretend that they like you. Even pretend they are your friend. But then they will strike when you don't suspect it, killing without a second thought. They want power. That's ALL they want..."

Kesh bit her lip, staring for another second at the Jedi. Maybe the Wookies didn't know....

And then ANOTHER thought came to mind. Something she remembered hearing - someone had once said that there was BIG money to be made for any information about jedi artifacts and thoe carrying them.

MAYBE, if she could capture this Jedi, the Imperials would let her go. Maybe he was just important enough...

She knew she was acting rashly. But she was desperate. Desperate times called for desperate measures.

And the Jedi's attention was focused on the Wookies and the Stormtroopers they expected to see soon...

MAYBE if she could get control of him she could turn him over to the Stormtroopers as they came near. Maybe she could just get out of here afterall....

And with that the sixteen year old girl grabbed a piece of power cable and ran as quietly as she could toward the Jedi, not thinking of much other than being free, adrenaline coursing through her body, her dirty, greasy blond hair trailing behind her as she ran.

[actions: #1 be a stupid impulsive teenager. #2 grab power cable piece and run toward  Ch'lana with the intent to try to strangle him.]

[ooc: actions for Kelly: pray to the Force that my character doesn't get killed. lol]

Nim stopped a second to look at Trax where he dropped her off. ?You're right, that was my bad. A number of things could have happened and it was smart to do that.? Her voice then raised a notch. ?But if you think that I am capable of bouncing my merry self out of here while you stay behind and die, you will be woefully disappointed.?

She stepped closer, her head cocking to the side. She took the rifle but her eyes narrowed.

?And don't think for even a second that you can force me to leave you behind either. It happened to me once, and it will never, ever happen again.?

?And there?s no point in me staying in this spot here, I couldn?t hit the broad side of this station from this far!?

"I could only carry one suit and the generator.  If I could have carried two I would ha..." a puzzled look crossed Trax's face and his eyes moved to stare over NIm's shoulder.

Mariah?  No, of course not she was...on the shuttle?  Was he really seeing this?  What the blazes was she...oh this would not end well.

Trax raised his right arm, pointed his pistol at the moving target that was behind Nim and pulled the trigger.

Everyone jumps when Trax's pistol goes off. They turn to see Trax, aiming at a dirty young girl that looks like she has been caught sneaking. She is holding a loop of high-voltage wire in her hands. A short distance behind her, where Trax apparently shot, the severed end of the cable dances and arcs against the metal deck plating. Apparently Trax shot the cable, severing it.

The girl is young, filthy and obviously malnourished, dressed in the ragged jumpsuit of an Imperial slave. She wears some sort of tech collar. It is the only thing clean about her.

[PM's sent to Collan and Nim.]

The two closest wookies roar angrily. One of them starts charging at Trax, the other one runs towards the young girl, obviously feeling protective towards her and trying to shield her from the rest of you.

At that moment, the lift opens. Anyone looking see two human males in Imperial Technical Corps uniforms. They are unarmed, and carrying two other techs over their shoulder who are obviously unconscious.

Then the blast doors start to open, and Ch'lana calls out, "They're here!"

[Actions?]

There are a dozen Stormtroopers coming through the blast door.

Collan wanted to groan. Of course Trax had to shopt the slave girl. He saw the control collar. Not as nasty as the slave insurance he'd had but still bad. Poor kid. He felt sorry for her. He was going to go help her when the stormtroopers entered the picture. Time to give Ch'lana cover.

He opened fire into them. It was rather clinical. He needed to protect his friends and rescue the Senators.

Trax lowered his pistol as he turned to face the wookie and took a half step forward to put a little more distance between Nim and himself.  Just in case the wookie didn't care if there was any potential collateral damage.

"She's fine," he said, raising his voice at the charging wookie.

"I just shot the cable so she couldn't hurt anyone, or herself."

[OOC: Use Brawling Parry: Martial arts to avoid the wookie's attack.  Use up to 2 CPs if necessary.]
