Nim heard Collan's words, but she takes a risky glance and immediately can tell that, as believable as Collan's words are, it is a complete and desperate fabrication. His body language screams LIE!. But the glance also told her than all the troopers bought it. They are at least wary that his story might be true, and are suddenly afraid of him.
She sees Trax hover for a moment on the very edge of trading his life for taking out Collan, but something (she can guess what) turns him from the brink, and he grits his teeth and places a hand on Keshani's shoulder to mumble something to her. Then, to Nim's horror, Keshani whips out a blaster and puts it against her chin. Nim can read Keshani like a book - she is prepared to die. Several of the troopers reach for the girl, and her resolve hardens, and she pulls the trigger, fully embracing her own death. Nim almost cries out.
But instead of plasma, the blaster spits out ion energy, and instead of killing herself, Keshani has rendered herself unconscious. Nim almost heaves a sigh of relief at the girl's error. It would be amusing, except she had been utterly convinced she was about to take her own life.
That resonates with Nim...
Enough risk! Nim ducks back, tucked into a corner trying to think like a shadow. A few moments later, they are all led away.
All except Nightshade.
Buzz is still active, and cloaked, own the first cell bay on the left. His sensors report all active lifesigns, except for the dozen prisoners in the last bay on the right, quickly march out of range.
They were all gone, and in different directions. Except, Nim had not seen Nightsahde. The Nekami must have evaded the guards, and is still hiding somewhere. He's not showing up on Buzz's scanners, so either he's masked from detection, or he is out of range. Possibly both.
