Nim watched the others struggle with the stun defense and nearly collapse in agony where they were. But it was only pain, which meant the stun might not be the priority. She fired up the wristcomp and started maneuvering Buzz.

"Danny, help me look for a power source or emitter or something for those defenses. That panel might be dead to us by the time we get to it."

Danny looks worried. "It's self-contained! The only way to cut the power is from inside the... field..." her voice trails away and she gets a faraway look in her eyes.

"There's a power generator behind this bulkhead. Maybe we can overload the shield? Blast, i need tools and some 30 meter cables..."

She heard Trax's yell, but a little too late as she crashed into the field, determined to draw attention away from Trax.

The pain was intense, and her brain retreated away into that little area where it went to protect itself...

The encounter with the hard floor as she collapsed through the barrier brought her back to her senses and she just lay there breathing for several long seconds, trying her best to ignore the pain of the after shocks that were searing through her.

She knew what she had done hadn't been the smartest. But what else was she supposed to have done? Just sit there and let Trax die while she lived?

No.

That just wasn't acceptable.

These thoughts were interrupted by another intense surge of pain. An involuntary scream escaped the girl's lips as she fought to make her brain work through the pain.

She couldn't move. Again that excruciating feeling of every pain sensor in her body being activated all at the same time....

She felt useless. Out of control. Trapped.

She tried to move but failed.

She focused her attention on trying to separate the pain from everything else so that she could think, but it was hard...

Actions: try to reduce damage as much as possible. Not going to actively fight against the field this round.

Ch'lana changes whatever his plan had been, and extends a hand towards the detention cells. After a few seconds, he says, "No good, it's not working!"

Keshani collapses onto her side, trying to resist the muscle spasms that are bending her backwards, while a scream escapes through teeth involuntarily clenched.

Then, the air behind the guard shimmers, and suddenly there is a female Zabrak standing there holding a Force pike. The energy dances up her legs, but she seems able to ignore it. She swings the pike, and the guard's helmet flies off his head, stunning the guard.

Niil, lined up on the remaining guard, fires his blaster. The shot impacts the shield with an audible 'ping' and deflects up into the ceiling. Other than a couple of faint ripples, the shield is undisturbed.

Nim and Buzz break from cover and run to a nearby computer panel. Her fingers start flying over the controls, with Buzz assisting.

On the floor deck near Keshani, Trax screams in defiance and struggles to stand. He gets one foot under him, and manages to stand erect. He reaches for the nearby protector, but his strength gives out and he collapses to the deck, his back arched painfully as the energy overpowers him.

Still unseen by the guard, Nightshade attempts to resist the energy, but try as he might, he is slowly forces to one knee before collapsing into the same back-arch position that Keshani and Trax have been forced to adopt.

Collan continues to aim, watchful for an opportunity to take a shot at the guard.

Then, quick as a viper, the Zabrak reaches out one hand to grab the protector's head. He immediately stiffens. A moment later, his face contorts in pain. A moment after that he screams. He screams again, this time with more feeling. Then, his face goes slack.

Slowly, the Zabrak raises an arm. The guard eerily mirrors her movements as she raises her hand. She starts working her fingers in the air, while the guard moves like a puppet, his fingers on the control panel. A moment later, with an audible fading hum, the shield collapses and the stun field shuts down.

Collan considers a moment before lowering his rifle.

Trax, however, explodes into a leaping roll. He grabs the heavy blaster pistol the downed guard had on him, and comes up in a crouch, gun levelled at the guard/Zabrak.

The Zabrak speaks, and the guard says the same things she does, only in a dead voice and a tenth of a second out of sync.

"We are out of time. If you have a way out, use it now."

The Zabrak moves her fingers in the air again, while her puppet guard does the exact same movements on the control panel. A moment later the energy fields holding the senators drop, though they are all prone and groaning from their recent electrocution.

There is a large explosion and a crash from the throne area. Looking, you see a massive fan of lighting leaping into the air, lighting up the entire chamber.

Collan called into the com, "We need to move now."

"Captain...we're near the Throne Room. Nim...what's the nearest hangar bay?" He added through the comlink.

He stood, wobbly and weakly.

"Ch'lana, can you give me a hand?"

He had been utterly horrified by what the Zabrak had done. He'd checked his fire because he couldn't morally justified shooting a man under the complete control of someone. Part of him now wondered if he should have just out of mercy. How much of the being's mind was left? This was beyond the pale. The power of the Dark Side to control and dominate was just...wrong.

Nim's eyes widened as she witnessed the source of the power-down. "Holy kark...that is so kandosii..." She reluctantly looked away to bring up the map to find the nearest hangar bay.

Niil watched everything the Zabrak woman had done to the guard, and felt his blood run cold.  Who the frakking hell did we just free?  Shaking his head in irritation for allowing himself to get distracted, he ran forward to the holding cells, lobbing a holstered heavy blaster pistol through the air toward Trax.  "Trax, Nigthshade, give me a hand with the senators (ooc:  assuming he can't yet see the blind guy yet) and Keshani!  They might not be able to move on their own power.  Time to get the hell out of here!"

She didn't quite notice anything before the energy field went down - she was concentrating on trying to ward off the pain too greatly.

But it was almost impossible to miss the strange....parlour magic tricks that were going on right before her eyes once she was able to push herself off the floor.

A being she had never seen before seemed to be controlling the guard, making him talk with her just like a puppet.

But magic wasn't real!!

She shook her head again, trying to clear it. Maybe her concussion was getting worse. Maybe she was bleeding inside her brain and now she was hallucinating.

Maybe this was all a dream....

She pinched herself.

Nope. Not a dream.

The sound and vibrations of another explosion caught the girl's attention and lightning danced through the air, leaving black spots behind her eyes from its brightness.

She fought the urge to close her eyes again, convinced she was seeing things.

But enough strange things had happened here already, maybe this WAS real....

She heard voices.

"Trax, Nightshade, give me a hand with the senators and Keshani! They might not be able to move under their own power. Time to get the hell out of here!"

And despite herself a small smile tugged at the corners of her lips.

It sounded like the were all alive....

Pushing herself up the rest of the way off the floor she stood gingerly, testing out legs that were still shaky from the after effects of the electricity and adrenaline.

"What can I do to help?" she asked to pretty much anyone near enough to hear...

Nightshade leaps to his feet as soon as his body returns to his control looking around the room for any threats.  Seeing Maris again he gives her a bow of thanks, for he doesn't share the moral hang ups of the others, before moving towards the prisoners.  It was definitely time to get out while the getting was good.

As he was moving past the girl, he heard her question and stopped to help her regain her feet.  Gestruing to the female senator he says, "Help her walk in the direction Nim says is the way to the exit."  The Shinobi admired the girl's grit and determination.

Keshani initially tensed up as Nightshade started to help her to her feet. He was still a total enigma to her and she hated looking weak.

But she forced herself to relax and accept the help.

"Thanks", she said softly.

Looking in the direction he had gestured the girl nodded and moved off to help the senator as asked.

She had a feeling they hadn't exactly had an easy time of their stay on this station, either....

<Actions: go help female senator>

Trax slowly lowered his pistol as he eyed the woman.  She may not necessarily be an ally, but it seemed for the moment anyway, she wasn't an enemy.

Turning his attention away from her he saw that Nightshade was helping Keshani to her feet so he turned just in time to see another pistol arcing through the air towards him.  Catching it, he saw Niil heading towards the senators, and far behind him, saw the huge fan of lightening.  Definitely time to go.

[OOC: Trax will help if he can, but he wants to keep both pistols at the ready.]

The senators and the old man are not faring well, and they need some help to get moving.

The Zabrak releases the puppet. The trooper collapses to the deck, and the zabrak literally vanishes before everyone's eyes.

There are a lot of people who need help to move. The senators and the old blind man are not well off. Keshani lends an arm to senator Mothma. Collan is still pretty out of it, so Ch'lana take him under one arm. Nim helps senator Bel-Iblis. Nightshade takes senator Organa, and Trax is forced to holster a gun and help the old blind man.

The group readies themselves as much as they can, and heads to the airlock, hoping that Juno will be there waiting for them.

The sounds of combat grow worse from the throne room, and you cannot hear anything beyond explosions and lightning. Worrying you may get caught at any moment, you make your way as fast as you can for the airlock.

You round a corner, and you can see it - an airlock right next to an external docking pad. If Juno shows up, you might get out of this yet.

Then everyone stops as Buzz bleats out a warning. Before he can finish, a blaster shot rings out, pinging off the droid's surface. The droid crashes to the ground, inert.

From around support struts and side passages, you see four red-armoured troopers emerge. And stepping out from beside the airlock itself, stands a female humanoid in a face mask and black full-length clothing. She ignites a cylinder in her right hand, and a red lightsabre comes to life.

She steps in front of the air lock door. Her synthesized voice says, "We can do this the hard way, or the easy way. Which will it be?"

Behind the lady with the sabre, you can all clearly see the Rogue Shadow fly in and settle on the docking pad.

[Actions?]

From the enemies you have vanquished, everyone had the opportunity to arm themselves with either a blaster pistol, heavy blaster pistol, or a force pike. Every PC also has a comlink tuned to the group frequency (which should include Juno). Trax has two heavies.

There are troopers left, right, back left and back right, cutting off all avenues of escape. The inquisitor blocks access to the airlock. NPC's are non-combatants, and carry no weapons. They can move half movement without assistance. The troopers are 30m, the inquisitor is 40m. You guys are kind of in a gaggle, with Trax in the lead.

I'll try and get a map up later tonight if you need one.

Collan made a conscious decision to take down a guard. He let his mind go calm. His strength was nearly spent as it was. He felt for the Force. The strength and peace of its Light filled him. The power the Dark Side offered was nothing against this.

The Dark Side was a flood but The Light was the dike. Well built and crafted over time. It was sure, steady, and reliable. Not fast and easy. The Emperor was terribly weong; the Dark Side ate its own. It practically demanded it.

Collan lined up his shots, two of them at a sovereign reign guard.

[FP with blaster rifle. Two shots on a single guard. If they are all down, one shot on the inquisitor. Or if things are really good; I'd fling a guard at her with concetration on TK]

Niil smiled and shook his head.  "No . . . I think I'll choose our way."  Snapping his blasters up to fire, he barked, "Senators!  Keshani!  Hit the deck!  Ch'lana, Maris!  Deal with that Inquisitor!"  He squeezed off a pair of shots at one of the troopers.
