Collan, Kehsnai, Nightshade, Niil, Nim, Trax: Escape from the Death Star

[Nightshade]

Quickly lowering Organa to the deck plating, Nightshade popped a smoke grenade at his feet to provide cover before rolling towards a bulkhead.  Looking to establish as much distance from the others as possible to assist in going ghost, he moved into position to strike at the closest red guard to their rear. 

[GM Craig]

[OOC: Just waiting on Trax. He's on family duty, so may be slow responding.]

[Niil Spaar]

OOC:  Can Nill see who Nim's drawing a bead on?

[GM Craig]

It's all happening pretty quickly.

[Nim Naja]

Buzz had gone the entire mission without incident and now, at the last possible minute, he takes a hit.

Nim's nostrils flared and her eyes were all the seeming of a dragon's.

"Bitch, that's my droid. I will karkin' end you! Trax, take her out - for Mariah!"

She angled herself to provide cover for Bel-Iblis and brought her rifle to her shoulder, her aim set square on the Inquisitor.

OOC: Nim will coordinate with Trax on Indara. I'm assuming the senators aren't fast enough on their own, so I'll provide "cover" for mine.

[Trax]

When Trax saw Nim by the doors he smiled and a look of relief came across his face.  He was however, unsure of what to make of seeing Collan.  Had he not been helping the old jedi the rebel would have likely taken a swing at the man.  He'd almost considered taking a shot with his pistol but something held him in check.

He thought they were home free when he saw the Rogue Shadow but in moments things once again turned grim.  Buzz hit the ground with a clang and the female jedi and guards stepped out of the shadows.  Trax was about to start snarling when his eyes were suddenly locked on her red light saber.  The man felt time freeze as a memory flooded his mind.

Trax fires the right pistol, and hits an already injured trooper in the chest. He starts to fall back. Then Trax's vision is filled with a glowing red lightsabre blade as it slashes down. Trax tries to twist out of the way, but the blade catches his left arm just below the elbow. For a moment he can only look in surprise as his arm separates and falls to the snow, still clutching the blaster. Strangely, there is no pain at the moment.

Then Vader caries through and reverses the blade to stab it through Trax's abdomen. Trax is held there for a second or two, suspended by the lightsabre. Then Vader draws it out, and Trax falls back to the snow. His last image is of Vader standing over him.

Sweat began to bead on the man's forehead and his hands started shaking.  Run, he had to run...and then he heard Nim call out.

"Take her out - for Mariah!" But how could he, he was frozen as the terror of what happened on the mountain flooded his entire body.  Then, another memory took hold.

He was on the Rogue Shadow, Nim had slid herself between him and a crate.

?You need to man the kark up.?

Her arm wound back and her hand suddenly went flying forward to slap him square in the cheek with a satisfying sound.

He could feel the sting of her hand on his cheek and he felt his heart pound against the inside of his chest.  Time to man the kark up!

Trax's hands stopped shaking as he raised his pistols.

"Nim, on my call!"

[OOC: Force point.  Coordinate with Nim for the bonus to hit and take 4 shots at the inquisitor.  If she goes down before he's out of shots then target the troopers.  I don't know if the bonus from Nim is added before or after the force point, but I think after MAPs each shot should be at least 14D+2 on Trax's skill alone.  I just hope that's enough to beat her lightsaber combat rolls.]

[Keshani]

Did she dare hope? But there it was - an airlock right down the hallway, within sight! Could it be that maybe, just maybe, she was finally getting out of here? Out of this hellish nightmare?

Then, as if in answer - as if she had jinxed them all just by even hoping, the little droid beeped out a warning and all of the sudden all hell broke loose again.

"Senators! Keshani! Hit the deck!"

The girl dropped down at the order, but she was NOT going to just lay there and hope she didn't get shot.

She had a blaster and would use it....

So laying prone on the deck, making herself as small a target as possible, the teenage girl took a deep breath to calm herself and lined up the blaster pistol she had taken from one of the downed guards before, aiming at one of the guards wearing red.

It would be sort of...poetic...if they were shot down with weapons from their own kind....

[Nim Naja]

Ooc: I'll add an fp if it'll help coordinate the attack on the inquisitor.

[GM Craig]

Based on Niil's response, one of the protectors fires a shot at Keshani. The girl dives to the deck, and the shot narrowly misses. Not taking the time to let fear take hold, she takes a breath and fires off a shot at the guard that shot at her. She hits him, but his armour absorbs much of the shot.

Trax calls out to Nim, and she raises her gun, ready to fire. Danny follows her lead, drawing a bead on the inquisitor as well.

Niil fires off a pair of shots at the guard on the right, hitting twice. The guard's armour takes much of the heat though, and while he is a little shaken, he is still very much in the fight.

Nightshade drops a small sphere on the ground and suddenly there is a large billowing cloud of smoke. Everyone looses sight of Nightshade at this point.

The inquisitor smiles wickedly, and flings her sabre. It flies through the air, striking Ch'lana. The Jedi grunts, but the sabre seems to do little more than slow him down. The sabre flies through the air, returning to the inquisitor's hand.

One of the guards fires at Niil, but Niil is able to narrowly twist out of the way.

Trax levels his pistols at the inquisitor and yells, "Now!"

Simultaneously, his, Danny's and Nim's pistols fire. The inquisitor's blade moves faster than the eye can follow, and the blaster shots hit what your eye tells you is a glowing red shield. One shot scatters back at Nim, narrowly missing her. Another shot reflects back at Danny, striking the girl in the shoulder and taking her down. Trax's shots fire back at him, but he manages to dodge them. Trax fires again with both pistols. The first shot is reflected back, catching him in the hip. Trax manages to shake off the hit. Meanwhile, his last shot manages to break through the inquisitor's defences and hit her square in the chest. She grunts, but besides burning a hole in her uniform, she appears unharmed.

Ch'lana then races forward with his force pike. He makes a single high strike, which the inquisitor blocks. Ch'lana then follows up with the other end of the pike with a low sweep, which the inquisitor manages to block, though barely.

[Ch'lana and the inquisitor are now locked in melee combat, making any further ranged attacks difficult.]

One of the guards fires on Trax, but he easily side-steps the shot.

Collan takes a breath and fires twice at the same trooper Keshani had fires on. One shot misses, but the second shot hits, and does enough damage that the trooper drops to a knees, then collapses to the deck.

Senator Bel-iblis crouches down against a bulkhead near a corner, providing cover from a couple of your opponents. Senator Mothma follows suit.

It is then that Nightshade makes his presence known. Using the smoke as cover, he dropped back to the two guards attacking you from the rear. One of those guards suddenly finds himself spitted by a pair of vibroblades. The armour is tricky though, and the damage is not as heavy as Nightshade would have liked, and the trooper is still in the fight.

Then, the old blind man extends a hand to the inquisitor. She suddenly flies through the air several meters, slamming against the bulkhead, but landing on her feet. The old man yells, "Now is the time! Make for the docking pad!"

Then, the trooper to Nightshade's left suddenly grunts and drops to the deck. Nightshade glances, and see the female zabrak, a force pike in her hand. She gives Nightshade's opponent a powerful swing, knocking his helmet clear as he falls to the deck.

Senator Organa takes a look at the old man, and starts running towards the door to the landing pad.

[OOC: As an aside, Ch'lana's force pike seems undamaged from the Inquisitor's parries.]

Niil took in the fight with a moment's assessment, then called out even as he fired, "Ch'lana, Maris . . . coordinate and keep that Inquisitor at bay!  All she's doing with our blaster fire is hitting us with it! The rest of us will take care of the troopers!  Nim, Keshani, Collan - grab Buzz and Danny and get the senators to the ship!"

OOC:  Two shots at trooper # 3.  And damn, Force pikes are indeed cool.   

[Nim Naja]

Nim knew this was it, all or nothing. There would be no third chance to save the senators, no third chance for an alliance of people organized enough to take down the empire, not until billions more were killed or enslaved, and perhaps not even then. Maybe never.

Lorrd fell and even liberated later, its people were never the same - not even human any longer. The galaxy couldn't suffer that fate.

The Lorrdian turned to the gentlemen and lady and pointed to the airlock. "Keep your heads down and run! Don't stop until you're on that ship!" Then she looked specifically at Bel-Iblis. "Wyrren is waiting for you - don't disappoint him."

To Collan and Keshani, her facial and body expressions towards them said only one thing: Help them.

With that, Nim set her sights on another target, specifically the one that fired on Kesh.

OOC: Nim will provide cover for Kesh if she goes for Danny, or the senators. She wants to be sure they don?t get hit regardless of whether they move/listen to orders.

[GM Craig: I took a force point for this action.

Nim Steps between Keshani and a guard, and fires her pistol. [FP] Her shot hits him square in the helmet. He staggers, raises a hand to his head, then teeters and falls to the deck.

[Nightshade]

Nightshade had no trouble with tactical retreats, so he moved to cover the senators and help them get out to the landing pad.  If he could take a stab or two at the guards on the way by, then that would be an added bonus, but living to see another day was the foremost priority.

[Collan]

Collan watched Ch'lana and the Zabrak, Maris, take on the Inquisitor. He had a bad feeling that both were about to sacrifice themselves. Well, Ch'lana might. Maris. Not so much.

Collan went to the senators (including the old man who didn't realize wasn't a senator as yet). The old man seemed to be in the direst need. He gathered the man up and said to all, "Come on. We need to go."

[Trax]

Bloody jedi, Trax growled as the shots were deflected back.  He wasn't sure if it was a good or a bad thing that the results didn't discourage him.  Guess he would find out soon enough.

He was happy to see Nim start to make a break for it, and he would soon enough as well.

"Maria...Keshani, help Nim with your friend and make for the shuttle."

Damn it, he thought as he had to correct himself.  The rebel lined up the jedi again and pulled the trigger on both pistols.
