Kota Militia Meta Quests
« on: December 11, 2016, 04:02:36 PM »
Meta Quest #1: General Kota has a pair of Delta 7b Aethersprite fighters available. However, he's not going to let you have them until you have 5D in Starship Piloting and 5D in Starship Gunnery.

Meta Quest #2: If you take your lowest skill to 5D (pick one if you have a few tied for lowest), you'll show Kota you are working to rounding yourself out more, and earn some measure of Kota's respect.

Meta Quest #3: Kota's troopers have skills in several categories. Combat (weapon skills). Tech Support (medical, repair, slicing, demolitions, security systems). Transportation (ground vehicles, airspeeders, beast riding, etc). Space (starship piloting, starship gunnery, navigation, shields). Command and Control (sensors, communications, command). If you want to become full members on his militia (and be eligible for leadership positions), you need to have at least 1 skill at 5D in three of those categories.

Meta Quest #4: Making your lightsabre requires either 5D in Lightsabre Repair or a lot more time. Consider getting to 5D a milestone on the way to being a Jedi.

To clarify the "boost lowest skill" thing, most of Colaln's technical skills are at 2D, so he can pick one and boost it to 5D.
Niil's mechanical skills are mostly at 2D, so he can boost one of them to 5D.

We've got some CP right now.  Can we start spending some on the deficient skills right now?  And if so, I suppose it's still 1 pip at a time per skill, correct?

So, would I be able to do the following:

Starfighter piloting:  2D+2 (2 CP)
Astrogation:  2D+1 (2 CP)
Communications:  2D+2 (2 CP)

Yes, you could do that.

Note that, since you haven't used those skills on an adventure, you will require training time to do this.

Sure thing.  Any ballpark on how long those skills would take to upgrade?  I don't have the PH handy right now.

Training time: If you have used the skill during your adventure, then you may advance the skill immediately after the adventure ends. Your character learned through experience.

If you have not used the skill, then you must train. It takes two days for every Character Point spent. If your character has a melee weapons skill of 3D+1, and he studies melee weapons, he must study for six days to move up to 3D+2. You may only train one skill at a time.

If you have not used the skill and decide to train, you may train with a teacher. Training with a teacher cuts the time in half. If trying to improve the same melee weapons skill of 3D+1, it would require only three days instead of six.

You can assume you have a teacher.
