Dark shadows coalesce around the dark jedi for a moment as he raises a hand towards Niil, and Niil flies through the air like he had been hit by a runaway nerf. He slams into the far wall and bounces a little, enough that he (barely) manages to catch the edge of the platform with one hand. His blaster pistol slips from his grasp, falling several decks down to the bottom of the shaft.

Ch'lana lunges forward with a stab, but the dark jedi catches the blue blade with his own red one, and parries. He then extends a hand at Collan, and the young medic collapses on the deck in indescribable agony.

Ch'lana makes another strike, but the dark jedi catches this strike as well, and levels a hand at Trax. The bounty hunter feels searing pain explode in very nerve of his body, and he slips to the deck to writhe in agony.

The dark Jedi parries a third strike by Ch'lana, and then throws his sabre. It flies in a graceful circle, striking first Collan then Trax before flying back to the hand of the dark Jedi.

Collan takes some damage from the spinning blade, but Trax mostly manages to resist it.

A few moments later the pain fades, but Collan and Trax are both shaken up from the aftermath of it, and the shadows around the dark jedi fade.

"Are you for malfing real?"  Niil muttered to himself as he scrabbled to get back on to the platform.  Not an easy task, considering he felt that he'd been worked over with a wampa's fist.  How the hell were they supposed to fight this guy?  And why in hell did he insist on taking a shot at the dark jedi?

Because he's the bad guy and he would've diced the lot of you after he finished Ch'lanna off,  Nill berated himself mentally.  Now stop your damn whining and get back into the fight!

OOC:  Get to the decking, and go for a dropped Force pike.  Or the nearest handy weapon.

Adjusting his grip on his pistols Trax stood up, grumbling incoherently the entire time.  He was not happy to say the least, as far as he was concerned, whatever it was that had been done to him, was completely uncalled for.  But as mad as he was at the dark jedi, he was equally as mad at Niil for taking the pot shots to begin with.

Even the odds, that's what the old woman had asked them to do.  Taking out the guards had accomplished that but Niil had to take it farther.  If Niil managed to climb back on the platform he might be in for a very sound thrashing when this was all over.  But first, the dark jedi had to be dealt with.

All right old man, Trax thought.  You better be damn good at whatever it is you do.

Taking a little extra care to try and keep his own shots from being deflected like Niil's were the spec fired off a pair of shots.

[OOC: I believe getting up counts as an action so taking 2 shots puts them both at 8D+2, add 2 cp to each shot if necessary, use 2 cp to dodge anything that may come back, and if hit, use as many cp as necessary to negate the damage.

Edit: I forgot about the -1D from the stun, use up to 3cp for each shot.]

Collan stood and brought his blaster up to fire. Ideally, this would split the Dark Jedi attention's enough the Ch'lana could do whatever he needed to do. Well...unless they got lucky with a shot.

[Add 2CP to my shot]

Niil tries to pull himself up, but his injuries are taking their toll and he cannot pull himself up. He is losing his grip on the platform.

Trax and Collan see Ch'lana adopt a much more aggressive stance, and the Jedi launches a powerful attack on his opponent. The dark jedi catches the attack, and ripostes with one of his own. The two fo them are moving too fast for the eye to see, and Ch'lana catches the blade with his own. Then Trax opens fire. The red sabre is too slow to block Trax's shot, and the bolt hits, but it doesn;t so much as leave a mark on the dark Jedi. His second shot likewise gets past the whirling sabre. It is a solid hit, but again it doesn't leave so much as a mark. Collan, however, notices a look of desperation creeping onto the face of the dark Jedi. The hits Trax made might not have caused any damage, but they are affecting the Jedi. Collan pulls the trigger, and scores a hit as well. This time, the Jedi feels the hit, and takes a stagger step as he clutches his arm.

Ch'lana is there faster than thought, his blue sabre spinning through the air. He catches the neck of the dark Jedi with the end of the blade, and head parts with neck. The headless body staggers there for a moment before it collapses to it's knees, and falls over.

In the sudden silence, you hear only the thrumm of  Ch'lana's activated sabre, and Niil's desperate pleas for help.

Collan immediately ran over to Niil and braced himself to pull to the man the back up. Once up, he broke out the medpacs.

"Niil...Ch'lana...you're both hurt. Let me take a look at you."

Trax holstered both blasters and followed Collan to where Niil was hanging on for dear life.  He knelt down at the edge but didn't immediately offer any assistance.  The spec had half a mind to let him fall, but in the end he reached down to help haul the man up.

As you both haul Niil up to the platform, you hear the "rrrrip" as Ch'lana deactivated his lightsabre.

The old man is breathing heavy as he walks a little unsteadily over to you. His face is sweaty. "I suppose I should thank you."

He doesn't look thankful.

Collan wondered what was going on in the old man's head.

"Only in part...we had some help too. And were told to come, otherwise your death was certain," he replied.

Niil caught the look on Trax's face as he hesitated before helping him back to the deck.  Just then the old jedi came up to him and said, "I suppose I thould thank you", but the man's face was completely devoid of gratitude.

Niil's own exasperation broke.  In a flat voice that betrayed his own irritation, Niil waved Ch'lana off with an impatient gesture.  "No, don't bother, sir.  I've never had much use for insincere gratitiude before, and I still don't now.  There's a prisoner that thought highly enough of your welfare, and I agreed with her sentiments.  Suffice to say that I did 'trust my feelings', sir, and I don't regret coming here to try and help.  And if that's still unacceptable, then pardon me to hell, sir.  I do find that there's things worth risking my life for."

With that, Niil went for the ladder and turned his head before descending.  "I'm going to get my blaster pistol.  When I get back, you can catch a ride back with us if you wish.  I'm sure that the nice lady that helped us to help you would like you to join us.  I would, too."

He shakes his head at Collan. "Nothing is certain," though he doesn't sound very convincing.

When Niil unloads on him, he stands there and takes it in silence. When Niil has gone Ch'lana turns to Collan and asks, "Where is this other prisoner?"

Trax watched Niil stalk off before turning to the old man.

"Down the stairs and through the door." he said plainly.  ""And thankful or not what's done is done.  If you have any problems with it you can talk to her about it."

With that he made his way to the fallen guards to make sure they would stay dead.  And to collect the pikes, and the jedi's lightsaber.  He had no use for them personally, but someone might.

Collan wanted to sigh and slap everybody around. But...he was just happy to be alive at this point.

"What Trax said. I should also note she speculated you came here to die."

He looked with not little intent at the saber Trax was collecting. He wondered how it worked.

"Ch'lana...We should probably go as well. If you are up to it, I have some questions...mainly about my family. And...is that laser sword safe to handle?"

Ch'lana ignores Collan's statement and questions. But he does glance at Trax. "As long as it is not activated, it is safe enough."

The three of you then make your way to where you left the old woman. She looks more tired than when you left her.

Looking at Collan and Trax, she says, "Thank you both for your assistance. You have accomplished much this day, though I doubt you realize it fully. Trax, my strong young man, could I impose on you one more time? I am still too weak to stand. We will need to depart soon, before the Imperial ships arrive. May I join you on your ship?"

Ch'lana just looks at the old woman, his arms crosses. On his face, open curiosity and glowering are waging a war, but he says nothing.

[OOC: Niil will be a few minutes getting his blaster.]

Trax will need to drop the force pikes (4 of them) in order to carry the old lady.

Collan picked up the pikes for Trax.

Inscrutable...it was a word he'd heard once. Ch'lana seemed to embody it. Collan thought he'd have been happier to survive but clearly something else was going on. He wondered...the Knight would not like to air his inner life in public like this. Most likely.

Finally Collan asked, "Who are you, ma'am? We've not been fully introduced."
