Trax looked at Nim. He wanted to tell her that her skills didn't suit what they were about to wade into but he knew it would be a lie and he knew she'd see right through it. And the only reason he wanted to say that was so she would remain where it was safe. But he thought Mariah would have been safer on Tormax's ship and that obviously would not have been the case. At least if she came with, even if she stayed on the shuttle, it had a cloaking device and trained pilot.
"Honestly, I want you to be where it's safest. But despite Galen's reassurance, we don't really know how safe remaining way out here will really be. On Galen and Juno's shuttle, there's at least a cloaking device and a skilled pilot. The safest place will be on the shuttle." he let out a bit of a sigh knowing he didn't answer her question, it was a question he didn't really want to answer.
"But do I think your skills would be useful...I want to lie and say no so you will stay on the shuttle but yeah, I do. I don't know much about Collan, and I definitely don't now anything about the others, but Niil isn't much better with computers than I am. And for my part, if hitting or shooting the console doesn't solve the problem," a he smiled a genuine smile, "then I'm just going to hit it or shoot it again and hope that does the trick.
You can let me worry about hitting the broad side, or any side, of a Hutt. If the opportunity presents itself and you can do so safely, just pick your shots carefully, and follow after me. If my targets don't drop, they'll be easier to hit. And I'll do everything I can to make sure all blasters will be trained on me which will keep them from targeting you."
He placed a hand on her cheek.
"Just promise me that you'll keep your head down if things go crazy. If you have to expose yourself to take a shot, don't."
