Collan, Nightshade, Nill, Nim, Trax: Raid on Horuz

[Niil Spaar]

Niil winced as a trio of explosions went off down near the checkpoint, then smiled as he saw the blaster fire die out.  Swapping his rifle in favor of his blaster pistol, he moved out into the corridor and forward, his weapon trained in front of him.  Keying his comm, he said. "Nicely done, Keshani, I think you got them all!  Nim, could you slice into the fans here and get this fog dispersed?"

Then he heard the sound of blaster fire, and instinctively slammed against the wall.  No bolts coming this way? It was then that he saw brief flashes of light arcing downward near the checkpoint, and he snarled an oath.  He's executing them!  Damn it all . . .  Niil trotted toward the checkpoint.

[Trax]

Trax was a little disappointed all he could find were downed troopers, but only a little.  He took a step or two deeper in looking for any mobile targets but he wasn't going to be picky.  He'd been forced to leave one trooper alive already, he wouldn't miss the opportunity to finish the job this time.

[OOC: 6 shots, preferably at active targets but homicidal beggars can't be choosers.

[Keshani]

Keshani smiled as she saw the flash of the stun grenades going off. It wasn't much in the way of paybacks, but it was something....

She stuck her head tentatively out of the opening of the duct to look around at Niil's words, trying to see if it was safe to come down.

[Collan]

Collan opened up with his blaster targeting the closest standing stormtrooper. It was purely a technical shot. Enemy in the way so he had to be taken down.

[Nim Naja]

"Sure thing. Need anything else? Should I join you now?"

Ooc pop in a rebreather if she needs it. turn off the fire suppression and/or try and get some exhaust fans going. She'll join them after if there's nothing else/doesn?t hear anything.

Btw Trax has her spare comlink.

[Niil Spaar]

Niil hesitated, then replied to Nim, "I think they're all down.  I think Keshani's going to need some medical attention, though."

[Nim Naja]

"Got it. Be there in a jiffy."

[GM Craig]

Nim Naja breaks into a trot and heads towards the intersection. Keshani, waiting for a hand down, takes a moment to admire her handiwork. It may have been a bit of a fluke, but there are a lot of down troopers below her. Two of them are still up, however, and they level their guns at Ch'lana.

Ch'lana, catches both shots on his sabre, and counters with a wide, low slash. He catches both troopers, and they go down hard.

Then Trax walks up to two of the downed troopers, points his hand cannons at their heads at point blank range, and fires.

Collan runs up then, and doesn't see anyone up. Niil likewise runs up, and finds the only troopers left are out cold.

Trax levels his guns at two more troopers and fires, point blank. it takes a moment for what Trax is doing to sink in. Before anyone can react, Trax changes targets and fires again at point blank range.

Everyone is still stunned when one of the troopers gets to a knee to fire on Trax's back, point blank. He never gets to pull the trigger, as two vibroblades suddenly erupt from his chest. He grunts when they are pulled out and slumps to the deck, revealing Nighshade.

In the aftermath, only silence and Trax's ragged breathing can be heard.

Niil stared at Trax in silence for several moments.  What the man had committed here was nothing less than simple, cold-blooded murder. An icy chill skittered over his spine.  Had Trax become completely unhinged?  And would he start becoming a dangerous liability on this mission?

In a flat voice, Niil said, "Nim could use your help, Trax.  Keshani got injured up in those ducts."

[Keshani]

The small smile continued to spread as she saw how effective the stun grenades had been. But then she felt a twinge of pain that caused the smile to fade a bit.

Frell.

She stuck her head out of the opening, deciding that it would be...adviseable...to wait for someone to help her down rather than trying to jump down her own at this point.

As she was waiting she watched the remnants of the short fight wrapping up - the Jedi deflecting the shots of the last two stormies off of his lightsaber (still amazed that they could actually do that...) and Trax.

Trax.

The teenager watched as he walked up to two of the downed troopers and shot them at point blank range.

She had seen so much death and.....abuse....down on the planet that it didn't really affect her as much as she imagined it probably should.

Her stomach didn't even churn as their bodies jerked as the energy went into them.

But something in the back of her head started a kind of silent war with itself.

They were Stormies. They deserved to die. They wouldn't hesitate to do the same thing to her; They were GOING to do the same thing to her. If circumstances hadn't...changed...They were GOING to do the same thing to Danny. If they didn't rescue her.

But there was a small part of her that argued back - just because they were going to do it didn't make it right. Who WAS this man that could so emotionlessly shoot the Stormies who were already out of the fight?

But they weren't out permanently. And they were IMPS. They didn't deserve her sympathy...did they?

She mentally shook her head, forcing herself to pull her attention away from the scene she had just witnessed.

She only was going to be with these guys for a short while anyway. Just long enough to rescue Danny and get out of here. Then she could be back on her own and not have to worry about such moral delemmas.

She ducked her head back out of the duct looking for someone to help her down.

[Nim Naja]

Nim makes her way to the group at all out speed as Niil made it sound like the danger had passed.

[Trax]

With no more targets Trax took a moment to try and calm his breathing.  Still a long way to go before the scales of balance made even the slightest movement.  Luckily this place offered plenty more opportunity to...

Trax's head snapped up and he looked at Niil when he heard the man speak into the comm.  Kesh was injured?!  He looked up and saw the girl poking her head out of the access panel.  Holstering his pistols he quickly moved directly below her, ready to help her down.

[Collan]

Collan stood, horrified into silence. This wasn't the Trax he knew from Karvis. Violent...maybe a little, but actively bloodthirsty and murderous!

He couldn't help himself.

"What the hell, Trax?" he exclaimed more than asked.

[Nightshade]

Pausing a moment to clean his weapons and return the blades to their sheaths with the proper amount of respect and ceremony, the Shinobi looked around to ensure that all targets were out of the fight for now.  Once he was assured that no other targets presented themselves, Nightshade moved to Ch'lana's side to check on his friend that was bearing the brunt of the defense for the group.  Now was as good a time as any to make sure his lingering wounds were properly tended.

Nightshade and Ch'lana share a few quiet words. Then Ch'lana holds up his hand. "Collan..." His face is serious, and the message clear - let it go.

To the rest of you he says, "Take time to patch up wounds. We have a few moments, but we cannot linger long."
