Collan, Niil, Nim: First Steps
« on: April 22, 2016, 01:23:37 PM »
Back up in the ruined house, you convene around a table. Senator Organa begins.

"We have much in the way of resources, but they need to be consolidated, or liberated. We also need a core to build upon, and expand. Our intention now is to part company. Master Kota will reassemble the scattered elements of his militia. Senator Bel-Iblis needs to return to Corellia and assemble his fleet. Senator Mothma will assemble her soldiers from Chandrilla. And we need to prepare a base of operations."

Rahm Kota speaks up. "Dantooine. It is remote, sparsely populated. We'll need someone to land, survey a remote spot, and organize a build crew. With it so far out of the way, we would need strong communications equipment."

The Senators look at all of you. "As this is our first mission, and there is so much to do, do any of you have a preference?"

[Actions?]

You have four options.
1. Go with Master Kota and rebuild his militia.
2. Go with Mon Mothma, assemble and organize her soldiers.
3. Go with Garm Bel-Iblis and get the fleet assembled and moving.
4. Go to Dantooine, clear an area and oversee the building of a base.

Feel free to propose something else if you wish.

For now, you have two ships - Ch'lana's old consular cruiser, and the Rogue Shadow. Commercial transport is available for some of this.

Niil glanced back at the door, and felt a nervous flush creep over his face.  Niil raised a hand.  "If . . . I may be so bold as to propose the possibility of another option?  I'm assuming that some of you are already aware that Trax, Collan and myself were supporting the resistance on Karvis Three - more particularly, the KDF and the Karvis royal family.  About two months ago, the northern resistance cell was razed by a flotilla of six Star Destroyers, but we're not sure what happened to the cell in the south.  More importantly, we don't know the fate of the Royal family."

"I would like to return to Karvis Three as soon as I'm able to try and at least confirm what happened to the Royal family."  Niil hesitated.  "I . . . am truly sorry to have not mentioned this earlier, but I also hold a year-long commission in the KDF that I'm honor-bound to obey.  And I also agreed to assist Ch'lana's comrade Toshiro in contacting said Royal family.  Apparently they contacted his clan to complete an important task for them.  If they're still alive, there might be a possibility of slipping them off-planet and to safety.  If the people of Karvis Three were to find out that the royal family escaped and were safe, it might bolster their spirits."

Niil lowered his eyes, embarrassed.  "Again, my apologies for not mentioning this as a caveat earlier.  I didn't want you to take that explanation as a refusal to join the Alliance, and I thought that I might be able to fulfill both vows at the same time. . . to the KDF and to the Alliance.  I was very presumptuous in this.  But I still believe that I can honor both."

Senator Organa takes a breath. "Niil, we have every intention of approaching other resistance organizations in all corners of the galaxy. Karvis, with their agriculture production, will be a vital asset to any rebellion. We cannot do this alone - we we need help from every system to make this work. But we cannot put the desires of one system ahead of the rest of the galaxy. Give us some time - once we have a base to operate out of, we can look at expanding. We will send you back to Karvis. Just not yet."

Niil nodded slowly, then replied, "I understand.  Then, sir, may I be permitted to speak briefly with Toshiro about this before he leaves?  You need not worry about me repeating anything that was said in here.  Or perhaps invite him to come with me on the mission I choose?  I can vouch for his honor and integrity, as did Ch'lana."  There was clearly a plea in Niil's response to senator Organa.

The Senator says, "Anyone leaving will be using one of those two ships out there, so there will be time. If you are willing to vouch for him, you're welcome to bring him along - we are in no position to refuse help. From any source."

Collan looked among those present. Trying to get a feel for where he might best serve. He was a medic which suggests a field posting would be best for him.

"Master Kota. If you'll have me, I'd join you," Collan said, "If I can make a recommendation, Keshani isn't sure what to do with her life now that she is free. She's an amazing tech and would be valuable. I would offer her a position directly."

Niil breathed an audible sigh of relief.  "Thank you, senator.  I'll be back as quickly as possible."

OOC:  I'm taking it that he gave me permission to go catch Nightshade before he left.

Master Kota frowns. "You are welcome to come with me, Collan, but I do not want it to be under false pretenses. I will provide no training on this mission. The girl Keshani may come with us if she wishes, but I will not have her 'talked into' it. She either joins us willingly, or not at all."

"I'm not joining you as a hopeful apprentice. I'm a trained combat medic and a decent driver. I'm suited for field ops, not space or hq work."

"For purposes of command structure, I assume you'd prefer 'General Kota' and not 'Master Kota,'" Collan half-inquired/half-stated. It would not be appropriate to refer to the old Jedi as 'Master' unless he was being trained when the man was also his commanding officer, "I'd recommend we take the cruiser as well. It has plenty of room for crew and soldiers. Plus a medbay."

He inclines his head to the side and gives you a single nod. "My troops refer to me as General. It would be fitting for you to continue their practice."

"Of course, General," Collan replied, "I assume you have no objections to my continued studies, sir. As long as they don't interfere with my duties."

He smiles, perhaps the first time you have seen that.

"I doubt I could stop you even if I wanted to."

Nim's demeanor changed the second Trax gave his answer. She couldn't mask her response and it read simply as hurt as she was pulled away to the next meeting. Would Trax even be there when she came out? Will he have left already?

She swayed on her feet and stared at the ground through the dark visor, her concentration fleeting. The woman was upset and completely embarrassed at what was possibly the worst timing in the history of ever.

Nim had been the one pushing them to help the senators at Corellia, and drug everyone, unconscious and damned near dead, willing or unwilling, to the giant space station in desperate hope to save the senators in time. Did Trax really expect that was it, she?d just drop out of the race and go back to the diner and skimpy bikini? Or maybe he had expected her to stay, and that was it for them, he?d go his separate way.

Could I have seriously misread him and his intentions, Allie? Could I be that stupid?

Allie?

The burning desire for glitterstim flashed through her system like an inferno, causing her shivers to turn violent. Her hand only came up halfway out of the thick blanket in time for her stomach to give out and retch onto the ground at her feet.
