PROXY walked in to the medbay a few moments later, and started to shake his head. "Mistress Naja," he whispered, "please, it is unwise for you to be exerting yourself so soon after coming out of an extended bacta immersion." The droid hesitated as if it was about to say more, but instead turned to Niil and said with some reproval, "Master Spaar, you did not awaken her, did you?"
Niil shook his head and held up his hands. "No, PROXY. I was walking by the medbay, and I saw that Nim was awake. I waved at her, but she waved for me to come in." He looked at Nim with an apologetic look, and added, "She, umm, tried to get out of bed, but we came to a compromise and I helped her to a sitting position."
PROXY stared intently at Nim for a few moments, then said gently, "Mistress Naja, I would advise against this. I could elevate the upper half of the bed, if you wish, but you should avoid as much movement and stress as possible."
Nim wearily raised an arm to point at Niil, and mumbled, "Uh-uh. Wan' talk with Niil for a bit. Don' want to wake Trax."
PROXY let out a faint sigh, but Niil interjected before the droid could respond. "PROXY, if I might make a suggestion? What if we got Miss Naja here into a repulsor chair, and moved a little bit out into the hallway so we won't wake Trax? The man needs the rest." He glanced at Nim, and said, "My medical training isn't as good as yours, PROXY, but I'll keep a close eye on her and call you immediately if she runs into any complications. I'll make sure that she won't stay up for too long, and I won't stress her out. My word on that. If you wish, you could also accompany us."
PROXY processed Niil's assurance for several seconds, then nodded reluctantly. "Very well, Master Spaar. I will provide Mistress Naja with the chair, but I will leave the both of you to speak in private. Please do not keep her up for long. And contact me immediately if there is any trouble."
Niil gave the droid a thumbs-up. "My word on that, PROXY."
PROXY returned with a repulsor chair, and both Niil and the droid carefully moved Nim into it. Making a few adjustments to the seating recline settings, PROXY carefully moved Nim out of the medbay and down the hallway a short distance. Securing the chair, PROXY nodded to Nim and left the two alone. Niil pulled up a chair to face Nim, and gave her a faint grin. "We have the corridor to ourselves, Nim. So . . . anything in particular you'd like to speak about? I'm all ears."
