Niil studied the readout for a few moments, then shook his head. "I can't believe they built the cannon's tracking and activation controls into a dome riddled with all these access doors," he muttered. "Well, that's a prime place to hit them. Take the gun crew out of commission or fry the gun controls, and it's a floating piece of shielded metal. Or use the engineering spaces to go after the power plant. Or even the sensor pods to blind them."
Looking at Collan, he shrugged. "I'm thinking of two options here. One, we try take the gun crew out on the first one we board, but right after they've loaded. We fire that round at another platform, and get out of there the second we hit the firing stud. If all goes well, Juno can get us out of there and over to another one before the others open fire on us. Or two . . . we just neutralize the gun on the first one without us firing it, and Juno moves us on to the next platform. Less risky, and it still takes away the platform's weapon."
