That too :P

Craig can I put together a dossier on Maris before we leave Alderaan? Also I don't know how safe it is to look that up while with the Alliance Intel folks. He-who-shall-not-be-named set off a bunch of alarms but we were in a much different place and circumstance.

Sure. But if Niil set off alarms, Maris is likely to be an order of magnitude worse. :)

Right, tis why I'm asking about the safety of doing so at Alderaan, albeit using whatever security Alliance Intel might be able to offer.

I would wait until we're done in Atrivis and then find some out of the way place to do the search from. The imps know she fled with us and thanks to us attending the very public dinner they probably know we spent time on Alderaan. But they don't know if Maris was there, doing a search on her from there means that she likely is/was there and is in possibly allied with us instead of sticking with her usual MO and running. That makes us potential targets so they can get to her.

Am I able to spoof it to a different planet? Nim did that for Niil but it didn't say where exactly the baddies would converge- on or off station.

I'd like to see what these guys here can offer in assistance versus Nim on her own.

Honestly, your network is probably far and away superior to theirs. You can spoof queries and such, but that can sometimes be traced, if they have enough resources.

Something seems off...

...but that can be traced.

There. Fixed it.

My recommendation would be to get the current mission looked after and then start digging.

We know that for the PCs the job has been brought in house, but that's all we know right now. When this mission is done then we can start launching queries, from multiple locations, to get specifics. When ever we do a look up on Maris it can't be from the same location as looking up the rest of us. And there has to be some randomness to the searches or else they'll figure out we are working with her. IE, we start with a search on us and her, but later we do a few searches just on us or her, we can't always have one search follow the other or they'll notice a pattern.

We're going to be pretty visible, so we need to take major steps to make sure she isn't associated with us.

Right, I just wanted to know my options for now and future.

Also I meant I wanted to know if the Intel guys here had any more security measures that I coukd add on top of mine.

Holding off on Maris for now.

I mean in regards to Nim's network.

I'm sure they could set up remote sites/servers that are disposable if the imps find them that Nim could launch queries from.

Nim's network is already far more extensive than anything the Alliance has. What she is missing is things like hardware encryptors, burnable data nodes, and the kind of stuff that takes resources she never had before. Right now she uses ad-hoc encryption and private codes to communicate with her network over the public hypernet. The alliance might be able to, over time, provide gear that she never had access to before that would allow her to tunnel traffic, or maybe even make use of some private links to obfuscate locations a little over short distances. It's those kind of enhancements that could turn the excellent network Nim built by hand into a blaster-proof intelligence gathering net.

But that will take time, and budget. Right now, for the moment, Nim has neither. But if things go well here, she'll probably get a discretionary budget to shore things up.
