They're already said they'll join. The shield you have was intended to hold them over until the rebels could give them more support - a show of good faith.

But it will take more than 6 hours to get a planetary shield (or a bunch of smaller ones) to them, yes.

I guess I'm terribly optimistic when running out the door :)

Honestly don't even remember them saying they'll join. Why didn't they want to take a shield then? I mean they were in debate all this time

They (or some of them) did not want to accept taking someone else's orders.

So they did agree to join?  I read Meday’s response as just accepting the handout that is the shield.

Do we have enough techs with us to leave some here to set up the shield and take some to Mantooine to set up the shield there?

Dumb question. Is it a known thing that there would be an imperial facility nearby that could process the resupply orders for a battlegroup?

I wonder if the resupply facility would be the station that’s in orbit. If we took it out, that might force them to attack Fest.

How long would the resupplying of a battle group take. And what kind of stuff would they be taking on for supplies?

A battle group would be picking up consumables, spare parts, munitions. Possibly hardware and personnel. But Imperial battle groups generally keep supply levels high. The incoming battle group is likely just topping up, so the loss of the station and it's supplies likely wouldn't cause much difficulty for the imps. The resupply could take anywhere from an hour to days, depending on how much resupply they need, and how many ships can be accommodated at once.

The Imperials still hold the orbital station, which is a sector supply station, but the imps don't have the ships to blockade the planet. So the system itself is contested, but on the planet the Imperial forces are restricted to their bunker, where they can watch and listen, but little else. Conversely, the local militias don't have the hardware or firepower to force the imperials out of the bunker, so they've laid siege to it, effectively. It'll be a long process before the Imp run out of consumables. Also, the rebels do not control enough ships to control the system, and certainly don't have enough to threaten the station.

Taking out the station is a significant operation. To do it effectively, you'd need large fleet of heavy ships, or a smaller fleet with a large number of troops. Even if all the militias were under one command, you don't have the resources to seriously threaten the station.

Do we know or can we find out how many or where there are "local" imperial facilities capable of resupplying a battlegroup?

If the battle group is in orbit, how difficult would it be to land on or leave the planet?

It'll be much harder to get on or off the planet. Not impossible, but certainly harder - you you almost certainly wouldn't be able to get out of the system in your ship without being noticed. It is likely one of their first tasks will be to secure the system, so there will be TIE patrols, and heavier ships running pickets.

The only facility in system capable of resupplying a battle group is the orbital station. Generally, there will be 2-5 such stations in each sector, but ordinarily only one per system. There are exceptions.

So originally we were going to be at both planets prior to the invasion. We were supposed to leave the system before it or assist one of them when it happened? Was the whole crew prepared, stocked and equipped for it? What do we have with us besides our own personal stuff?

You have technical stuff, personal weapons, a small crew of Intel analysts, and a small crew of technical staff. There are supplies and consumables for the trip. The Rebels did not want to engage significant resources until the planets had signed on to the effort.
