More like a few hours, tops.

Lol.

Is there an inside joke there somewhere?

Assuming an attack was coming, how much lead time is required to power up the shield once it's all put together?

Less than 5 minutes. Only moments if it is in standby.

Lieutenant Carver looks uncomfortable. "Probably espionage, Ma'am. There's a lot of distrust between the different factions. The civil war was long and bloody, and still in living memory for half the population. Prejudice between factions is going to be a problem to any unification effort."

Oh good. We're Americans walking into North Korea. Cuz that always turns out well and not charges of espionage and 15 years hard labor.

More like Americans walking into the middle east, and trying to get everyone to be friends. Some groups may be allies. Some may shoot you on sight. Some might hold you hostage.

No idea what we might have, or have access to in a timely fashion, that we could offer each faction.

Hmmm, I wonder if we could bluff, offering the identities of known imperial spies within each camp.  It's possible that will definitely get imperial attention, which would give us the opportunity to capture some imperials for interrogation.

Another option would be to try and gain access to one of the bunkers (or the station) and see if we can't actually get some local intelligence.

Heh. Bunker busting is something you've done before, true, but this is a whole other kettle of fish. The Imps have been on this planet for years.

No argument there, but last time I didn't have access to a jedi.  And I doubt when they built these bunkers they expected an assault that included a jedi.  The station is another option.

Only way Maris gets out of that without a ton of heat is if you kill *everyone* that sees her do anything jedi-like...

And this is what Trax would hear out of that conversation, "kill *everyone*" :)

Quote from: GM Craig
you have to assume they can still communicate with the rest of the Empire, or Imperial agents on planet

For off world communication, even to the space station, the bunkers would need a pretty big antenna wouldn't they?

Not necessarily, they may have limited communications with the station. The bunkers may not have direct access to the hypercom system, but they likely have agents who could send coded messages through the public communications systems.

Sucks but let's assume that imperial intel will find out somehow if we do either broadcast or use Jedi stuff. Doesn't mean we should or shouldn't do it, just saying.

No, it doesn't dictate whether we should or shouldn't but it means Maris should have the deciding vote on any course of action that risks exposing her.

Okay dumb question time. The imps are on the way anyway. That's why we're here. So what in particular am I missing that makes our intervention in this way a bigger deal? We have already announced to a lot of people the alliance is here. Does a broadcast make it quicker that the empire arrives, assuming they have the capability to reach them off planet?

Probably.  They'd likely want to localize and silence the transmission ASAP, and the Empire's known for overkill vs. precision.
