He banks the ship to avoid another storm. "Yeah. No way I'm going out there."

"Smart. Let's keep coms open though. Splitting the team is almost never safe for extended durations in hostile territory."

Niil laughed, although a hiccup caught in his throat and damn near made him heave again.  After he got his guts under control, he replied, "Hell, I don't want to go out there."  He might have issues with the Zabrak's attitude, but that didn't interfere with the vast respect he had for the man's piloting skills.

"Collan, I guess we should suit up.  You got the saber with you, right?"

"Yeah. Let's suit up on landing and get camp set up," he said and then noting, "Shelter is priority one. Then if weather and light cooperate, let's go investigate the Jedi camp."

A few minutes later, Navara flares the repulsors and sets the shuttle down on a small plateau in the foothills of the mountains. You saw evidence of very old ruins on the approach, and there is what looks to be the dust-choked remains of a city a klick or two from the plateau where you landed, but otherwise there is no sign of an archaeological dig.

A few moments later, the ship settles to the ground, and Navara opens the hatch.

the suits are fairly light, and more protective in nature - they are not sealed or pressurized. The synthesizers give your voices a robotic timbre as the two of you climb down the short boarding ladder and take your first steps on Ossus.

Collan takes a step or two, but slowly comes to a halt as if distracted.

[Sense: Collan feels something odd about the place. Not this spot, exactly, but bigger in scale. You might be able to put you finger on it if you spent some time, but something feels off somehow.]

"Niil," even inside the suit Collan felt like his voice had a robotic, tinny timbre, "Let's get set up quickly. There's something not right here. I can't put my finger on it but I might be able to suss it out."

Nill nodded.  "Sure thing.  Once we do, I might be able to help in that regard.  Umm, we're not planning on setting up right here, are we?  This ship's likely going to attract all sorts of lightning.  Maybe down closer to the ruins?"

"The shield should keep us safe from lightning. I'd rather not be far from evac if need be."

"Fair enough.  Let's get this set up and go have a look at the ruins."

OOC:  Setting up the shelter.

Collan nodded, "Once we're, if we can hold off I'd like to see if I can sense what's giving me the green willies about this place."

"When you said 'this place', did you mean in this general area?  Or bigger?"

"I...I don't know, "Collan replied, "I can feel it...an uneasiness, but I can't pinpoint it. It feels like it's bigger than just our immediate surroundings but I can't identify its source. It could be a being but it's a lot more diffuse than when I met the Emperor. It could be the ghost of something that happened...maybe to the archaeology team. I just don't know. Let's get the camp done first and then I can see if I sense anything or get a handle on the source."

Niil nodded wordlessly and carried on with setting up their shelter, although he now had the sensation that countless eyes were watching them.  Did the archaeological team unearth something that should best have been left alone?

You get to work. Priority one is the shield, which protects from a range of evils. You get the power generator set up, and get the shield hooked into it, but that takes some time. Neither of you are very technical, so you take your time and work through the process carefully. Half an hour later, the bubble is up. However, it's far too small to cover the shuttle. It'll keep a smallish area safe, about 10m in diameter.

The envirotent is next, and that goes much easier that the shield. Your gear is unpacked, and you've done a quick scan. It turns out the atmosphere is breathable, and within the shield, radiation levels are nominal. Outside the shield, you're probably safe for an hour, but much longer than that and you're looking at radiation poisoning.

Collan dusted off his hands and turned to Niil.

"All right," he said, "How long before local sunset do you think? I'd like to see if I can feel anything."
